Kodachadri seems to have attracted the attention of humankind since early prehistory.
Several monolithic structures or menhirs were built here in prehistoric times.
Rocks with dimensions greater than 12 feet were used in their construction. Now also Kodachadri is considered to be one of the beautiful mountain peaks of Karnataka.

Hiking to 13 KMs with an altitude of about 1,343 (4,406 ft) meters above the sea level definitely is doable with good fitness level. The greenery, waterfall, and the beautiful trail
motivate throughout to reach to the peak.

It is also recognized as a natural heritage site by the Karnataka government. 13 KMs hike gives the required adrenaline rush and gives the ultimate view of Sharavathi backwaters, lush green meadows, jeep trail, and dense forest. Hiked to the 10th highest peak of karnataka, elevation of 1,343 m (4,406 ft). Kodachadri is declared as natural heritage site by Government Karnataka and now we know why 😀 Dense forest, clear water streams, moving clouds, greenery all around ..ah what an experience ..however it was challenging to reach the peak but with all team effort and self motivation we reached the peak 🤘
