So many great tourism businesses are already bankrupt because the lockdown. Its a shame.
Usually it is because of the renting costs.

This cannot happen if you rent our islands because the renting costs are so low compared to other spots and extremely low compared to similar spots. Also we guarantee that renting costs will be stopped if there is a similar crisis. No risk on this side!

When I first went there i started without much planning. Its the real cast away experience. Don't plan too much! But prepare yourself. My equipment for my first continuous stay of several weeks was the following.

The first person will be pioneer and will strongly influence the experience for all people joining later. The island has been without people for some months and nature overtakes very quickly.

So the quest of the first adventurer will be:
- bring order into chaos
- start with a hammock and develop a basic camp over the weeks

Requirements:
- has at least a month time soon and is able to get to Sumatra despite corona
- some basic survival skills may come in handy
- 300-500 $ needed for transport, food, etc.

There are 5 small villages in the region. 2 Muslim, 2 Christians, 1 50:50(!)
Its more easy to "work" with the Christians, because they not always have religious activities, but they are always drunk ;)
Some different culture to discover is surely given. I will help you.

You can:
- chill (and drink of course) with the local community in a very small jungle village. Its always funny
- play with the kids
- go hunting with locals
- invite them to your island for some barbecue party. They can catch the food (but of course you need some % for drink)

Concept:

You live alone or with friends on a lonely island. You start camping with a tent but the goal is to create a real cast away camp like we know from movies or books.

Duration of stay:

I suggest at least several weeks. But months are more suitable for the full experience.

Logistics and support:

Either you have your own boat or you will be in touch with several local boat owners. With a boat (even a kayak) you can drive to a small local village and buy all necessary things like food, water, tools and even local alcohol. On the way to the village you will probably see dolphins or turtles or dugongs or even whales.

Island life:

Some people think it may be boring to stay on a lonely island but it's definitely not if you embrace the cast away lifestyle. I lived there for years and it was never boring. I didn't even had often time for leisure activities like snorkeling in the corals and marine life enriched beautiful sea.

Typical Activities:

Build a camp: use your imagination! Use material you find on the island like driftwood, explore big other lonely islands which are close by and find "loot" which you can use to create something new in your base. If something important is missing, just "cheat" and order it from a local village (like boards, bamboo, stone bricks, etc.)

Secure your food income: make yourself more independent from the villages.
Learn how to fish. You can use a speargun and fish while snorkeling. And of course by line. Build a garden and secure it so animals won't steal. Get some chickens from the local village to accompany you on the island. You will learn a lot about chicken, what you didn't know before. Or just eat tons of coconuts.

Explore the many islands: There are about 60 lonely islands in this region, 20 of them reachable by kayak and 4 even by swimming.

Explore jungles and mountains: there is a lot of untouched nature to discover

Go underwater: the marine life and underwater visibility is incredible. Even after months you will regularly find something new. The sea level is very low around the islands what provides infinite snorkeling spots.

Play with the island cat. You will love him!

I have rented a small island in Sumatra/indonesia and lived there for 1,5 years. Like Robinson Crusoe, but with some modern equipment (solar, gas cooker, etc.). I built with driftwood and bamboo. I created a garden and catched fish. It was a perfect time and a very satisfying adventure.

Now YOU can experience that adventure! I have to be away for some time and in the meantime I rent the island to people who want to fulfill their cast away fantasies, too!
