What ride is your favorite at Hollywood Studios? Are you team Toy Story or team Star Wars? Or both? Rise of the Resistance is one of the best rides Disney has ever created in my humble opinion 😉 don’t forget to purchase an individual lightning lane if you don’t want to wait in the long standby line!

I get lots of questions about Disney’s Skyliner. What is it? The Skyliner is a gondola ride in the sky that can take you quickly to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. It’s especially nice that you can take strollers right on it (no struggling with folding them up like on the buses). Resorts on or nearby the Skyliner include Beach and Yacht club, Boardwalk, Caribbean Beach, Art of Animation, Pop Century, and Riviera! Caribbean Beach being most centrally located as this is the station where you would transfer to get to Hollywood Studios or back to a resort. The Skyliner is also just a fun way to resort hop and relax! They are also continuously running so frequently the wait is much less at the end of the night compared to the buses or even the monorail. See the last slide for a map!

1st time staying at Disney’s Yacht Club and it was gorgeous! I loved the theming and attention to detail throughout the property. Yacht Club is located within walking distance to the Boardwalk. We love the views of the lake along the walk. They have carnival style games, food windows, and little stores for the whole family. There’s also a mini golf course closeby. Hurricane Hanna’s, the pool grill and bar had delicious food and drinks! And in my opinion, the best part of all: the access to the Skyliner. Such a convenient location! You can walk right to EPCOT! The pool is incredible, probably one of my favorites on property. They have a huge water slide, a full lazy river, multiple swimming areas (it never felt crowded to me), and the bottom of the pool is filled with sand. It’s very relaxing and beautiful to sit poolside here. 10/10 rating!

One of the coolest things we did on our trip to Puerto Rico: the bioluminescent bay. There are 5 recognized bio bays in the world (some claim there are more). And 3 are in Puerto Rico! We went on a tour in Farjado. The company was called Bio island. They were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. This bio bay is located fairly close to El Yunque and not too far of a drive if you’re staying in San Juan. They recommend going close to new moon as the lagoon will be much darker and your chance of seeing these shiny critters will be higher! We lucked out and had a very dark night on the bay. You can either kayak or take a boat tour. Pictures won’t do it justice but we had the clearest night and saw every star in the sky. The tour gave us paddles but I recommend using your hands to see this incredible light effect. These tiny microorganisms called dinoflagellates glow when the water is moved. In fact, I placed my hand in the lagoon, pulled it out, and saw it shimmering—one of the coolest moments ever! When these glowing guys are photographed, they appear blue on camera. We even got to see some iguanas in the mangrove trees! What an incredible bucket list activity! You definitely don’t want to miss this if you plan a trip to Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷

Finally home and excited to share some more details of my trip to Puerto Rico! We stayed at the Wyndham Rio Mar which is located about 40 minutes outside of San Juan. I would highly suggest a rental car like we had because Ubers are a bit harder to come by in this area. The resort was very quiet and family friendly. They had a quiet pool for adults only, as well as a recreation pool, and kids’ pool with a water slide. There had backyard games, music, and even a swim up bar for the adults. The resort is located right on the beach. This area is known to have riptides but if you’re more interested in just sunbathing, it’s a perfect, quiet area to relax. The resort also has many different food options, though a bit pricey, the food was delicious! I had amazing tacos at Caicu—the tapas bar. The rooms were spacious and included a private balcony though a bit dated. You can also get 24/7 room service. The resort also has a casino and golf course. My main complaint was that staffing seemed to be a bit lacking during the off season. For example, no one was walking around with food menus by the pool. At times, it was hard to find an employee to ask questions to. Aside from that, the people we encountered were very kind and hospitable. If I had to rate our stay, I’d say it was an 8/10. Certainly, I would recommend you consider the Wyndham if you’re looking for a more relaxing getaway to Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷

October monthly resort highlight! This month, let’s talk about Disney’s Coronado Springs. With Spanish and Southwest influence, Coronado Springs is sure to delight you. It has 2,050 guest rooms and 64 suites. You can opt to stay Club Level at the Chronos club for concierge services as well as lounge access with assorted food. Coronado has direct bus access to all Disney theme parks. There are 3 leisure pools as well as the Lost City of Cibola Pool with a Mayan ruins theme! And of course, we can’t forget dining options! If you’re looking for a mix of relaxation, good food, and culture—then consider Coronado Springs for your next Disney trip!
