Some days just seem perfect for sitting on the beach while watching the waves roll in and the clouds float by.
I am loving these moody winter paddles where the water is crystal clear!

I've been dabbling in the Wim Hof method for about a year now after hearing a lot about the breath techniques and cold-water therapy.
We practice the breath work in our men's group and I've been trying cold showers in the morning.
After this little dip I finally started watching the intro videos from @iceman_hof to get an idea of how it actually works. I'm sure I'm doing it wrong! 😂🌊🌬
Have you practiced any of the techniques and found them useful or beneficial?
I had the opportunity to go on a retreat this weekend with a group of friends to Bowen Island. I spent almost the entire time curled up under my blanket in this rocking chair next to the fireplace, nursing multiple cups of tea and allowing my mind to wander aimlessly.
It was an incredible experience, with no agenda and nothing to accomplish. There were, of course, times when I felt like I was wasting my time and needed to be productive (a side-effect of our product-driven society) but knowing that I needed this time to rest kept me in the chair, slowly feeding the fire log after log. It was like a detox for my soul, watching the flames rise and fall, feeling the warmth relax my body, and hearing the crackle of burning logs.
I came away from this retreat feeling spiritually at peace and having clarity on several subjects in my life that I hadn't realized needed attention. Some of the issues that came to the surface surprised me, and I was grateful to have the intentional time and space for my mind to wander into these issues I normally wouldn't give time to. With my daily life distractions melted away, the elements of life that needed addressed were allowed to emerge and be consciously considered until I was at peace with each of them.
I'm filled with thankfulness for the people who have created these spaces of retreat, the trees that made the rocking chair, journal, and fed the fire, and to Mandy for gifting me the time away.

We will be releasing the tour dates soon, so get your calendars ready!
Guide's Alliance Spring Exchange Workshop
Had the pleasure of facilitating an on-water rescue workshop for the Guide’s Alliance Spring Exchange last week.
Thanks to the prodigious Jonathan Lee for helping facilitate!
We had a blast, with guides coming from Power to Be, Take a Hike and Cates Park Paddling Centre.
Sometimes kayaking puts everything together for me. This moody day out paddling with some friends was just what I needed.
Kayak Lessons
I had a great day teaching a kayak lesson in False Creek this morning!
Kayak + Waterfalls = Beauty!
