Language in Hawaii
Hawaii is the only American state to have two official languages: Hawaiian and English. There's also an unofficial Pidgin language. This combines the culture, dialect and customs of the region in an abridged type of slang. English is pretty much the only language you'll need however, as it's spoken everywhere, with only street names and places written in Hawaiian.

Hawaiian Food
Hawaiian food is an enticing blend of Asian, Polynesian, Hawaiian and American influences that's destined to suit all culinary desires and tastes. Renting a Car on the Big Island
The best mode of transportation on the Big Island of Hawaii is a rental car. While it may be the best route to go, it can also come with a few challenges.

For example, it is not cheap. It is definitely more affordable than other places I have visited but it is still no treat (the longer you stay, the cheaper it gets, however).
You will also need to consider the worth of this. If you have only one day in Maui, Oahu, or the Big Island, it may be more feasible to get around by tour or pre-arranged transportation instead of a rental car.

When people hear you are “going to Hawaii” for the first time, you will almost always get asked, “which islands are you visiting?”

In the past, when airfare was cheap and regulations were lax, it was easy to visit two or three different islands in a single week-long vacation.

Today, however, you are better to decide which island you want to go to and enjoying that one, exploring it’s unique wonders and then planning a return trip.

In many ways, Hawaii is a paradox. While it is a series of islands, people underestimate how big the state is as well as how big and diverse the individual islands are as well.
