We met at a coffee shop last Monday about a last minute trip to celebrate her daughter’s 1st Birthday.

In one hour we had room, tickets, flights, and a car booked!

••••𝑅𝑒𝓋𝒾𝑒𝓌 𝑜𝒻 SANDALS Antigua••••••

The plane ride ✈️:
It is a long day of flying 😴. Our flight left Memphis at 7:00am and we decided to do a connecting flight to Charolette (Miami is available) From Charolette to Antigua is 3.5-4 hours. The ride to resort is only about 20 minutes which is not bad at all, but we arrived in Antigua at 4pm (2 hours ahead of Memphis time)

The airport 🛬:
The airport is small but efficient. I do suggest fast pass just in case a lot of planes get in at one time. I would say we waited about 30 minutes to get through. BUT they do stamp your passport, as you know, that is a big deal to me.

The Island 🏝️:
The island is around 13 miles long. It is absolutely beautiful with 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. Zip lining and Sting Rays are a big thing here! So much to explore on the island. You can also go next door to Barbuda!

The resort🏨:
I always go to resorts expecting one thing and they usually always prove me wrong (in a good way).
I would say this is a medium/large sized resort. I never felt like it was over crowded. There are daily activities at the pool including trivia, volleyball, sip and paint, bingo, etc. Every night there are shows and entertainment including karaoke, fire limbo, a violinist, etc. There are two main pools. An entertainment pool with a swim up bar and a quiet pool, ALSO with a swim up bar which is a great touch. There are mini pools throughout the resort outside some of the rooms. You won’t know they are there unless you roam around which makes them super tranquil. In a weird way, I felt like I was in a cute little town. It was a different feel than other resorts I have been to and I really enjoyed the vibe.

The beach 🌊:
If you are a beach person, THIS IS FOR YOU! The beach is stunning. Important to note-this is a public beach meaning vendors are allowed. There are vendors selling things along the beach and locals offering jet ski rides and grass. If this will bother you, we will pick another resort. Because it is a public beach, there are security guards at the entrance to the resort from the beach making sure you are a Sandals guest. I never once felt unsafe with it being a public beach.
Make sure to take advantage of all the free water sports including snorkeling.

Rooms 🚪:
So many room options! We actually had a room where there was a quaint pool and hot tub right when you walked out. ( we took full advantage of the hot tub every night) We were on the ground floor which we absolutely loved. I am a balcony girl, so I was surprised. Our room was an island feel and not modern, but it did not bother us at all. Our shower was actually a tub, I know some people like strictly showers, so we will find you a room with that! As always with Sandals, they have Luxury, Club Level, and Butler rooms.

The Restaurants 🍛:
11 Restaurants! Including….a Hot Dog Stand 🌭My personal favorite-Mario’s-Italian-it has an appetizer bar! One night, we went and only had appetizers and dessert. Absolute perfection. Three restaurants require reservations-Tex Mex, Pan Caribbean, and Hibachi.

Pro tip! Make sure to order an extra pizza during the day for a late night snack 🍕

The Staff 👥:
The staff were very nice and on top of everything! My dishes were picked up within 5 minutes of finishing them while eating by the pool. At the restaurants, immediately. I feel like they were a little more on top of it than a lot of resorts I have been to.

Overall:
Absolutely beautiful. I will not lie, I was expecting an older resort with a good beach and catered to the beach people. Not the case at all. While it is a stunning beach, I am a pool girl and had the best time with the staff. Even played Family Feud one day 🤣. Whether you want up beat or be on the downlow, they have you covered. I feel like we were low key this vacation. We spent one day at the entertainment pool, one at the quiet pool, and one by the pool by our room. Every day was great and exactly what we wanted.
As always, I do not practice what I preach on my own vacations and did not book an excursion ahead of time and it was sold out 🤣. Do as I say and not as I do.

My most asked question—How do you get paid?

Travel agents get paid after a client travels and books with us. We get paid by the supplier-meaning Carnival, Disney, Sandals, Hilton, etc. Wherever you go, they pay us for helping you. You do not pay an extra fee to use an agent! The fee is already included in the price you see online. So, if you do not use an agent, you are actually paying more for a service you are not utilizing. We are a wealth of knowledge and we are your first go to if something goes wrong. We are like insurnace, but for free 🤣 You are also helping a small business for FREE and not giving a big corporation all the money 😊

This is why it is so important to value a travel agents time. If we do a lot of research for you, and you book yourself or even go to someone else with our information, we are working for free. No one likes that 😊.
