A quick 13 hour stop in Virginia!

Running on 4 hours of sleep & just worked 2 flights, but I promised myself I would make the most of these layovers, (if of course there’s ample time to rest as well). The sun was shining & I knew it was either explore or scroll tiktok, so I’m keeping my promise 💛

I visited , a warehouse like building right on the water in Norfolk, Virginia! It’s filled with yummy eats, fun bars, celebrating people (it’s pride weekend here!), and the prettiest water front views ✨

And now… time to sleep 😂 Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area (and thank you .marci for the recommendation 🥰)

I’ve been flying 1 week and so far it’s been amazing ✈️

I’ve now worked 10 flights, visited 8 states, experienced a 2 day delay, almostttttt went international, have been the lead flight attendant, and most importantly I have met the sweetest, kindest, and most supportive people.

Flight attendants have a pretty wild life I’m learning, especially being the newbie, but I think this is an adventure I’m going to truly enjoy ❤️

Am I a morning person? No. Did I wake up before sunrise to get IG photos at Mount Rushmore? Yes 😂

While the intentions were to beat the crowd, I was not prepared for the benefits of getting up early on a road trip day! (Only took me 2 cross-country road trips within 4 months to learn this 😅)

I had time to spend at the monument without feeling overwhelmed by large groups of people, but when I left around 9:30, I realized I had the whole day for extra adventures!

Since I was driving to Denver, I couldn't venture too far off track, but I managed to visit Crazy horse, Custer State Park, see the Wyoming state sign, and get to Denver at a reasonable hour!

So, shoutout to golden hour for getting me up early & teaching me what it's like to not be rushed when driving from one place to the next 😅

I'm a firm believer that every trip starts with a dream ✨

Maybe you have a thought, see a picture on Instagram, or spend your days living vicariously through friends + bloggers - whatever it may be, there’s something in your life that sparks your desire for adventure, and I want to be the first person to encourage you to go for it!

If you want to make a travel goal happen - start reaching for it! Whether you want this trip to happen next week or in the next decade, it's never too early to start. See what seasons have the ideal weather, take a peak at flights in various months ( is my favorite for seeing cheapest times & comparing airlines), turn to and google to gain inspiration, and create a plan!

How much will you need to save for travel (flights/gas + accommodations)? Do you want to live like a local and make your own meals & find hidden gems, or live your best vacation life and treat yourself like you know you deserve? Do you want to see all the tourist sights & visit every attraction, or spend your days relaxing and seeing the treasures you stumble upon?

Travel can be magical & wonderful but a lot can & does go into it to make experiences as enjoyable as possible! So by starting when the spark first ignites, you'll be much more equipped for the day you hop on that flight or in your car for your dream adventure ✈️

✨ Drive to the other side of town & see what you can find!

✨ Utilize Google Maps, your town’s Tourism Board (try searching: Visit ‘Your Town/Nearest City’) & Yelp to kickstart your adventure if you want to have a plan!

✨ Find a sunrise or sunset lookout spot

✨ Grab your laptop & head to a near (but new to you!) coffee shop

✨See something that looks fun & cute? Stop & explore! You’re the main character in your solo adventures & its up to you the path you take & deciding what your outing looks like 🤩

✨ Most importantly, have fun & be so proud of yourself for getting out + doing something new 🥰

Did you hear? Starting today (Jan 26, 2021) all AIR passengers traveling to, or returning to, the US are required to present a valid, negative covid-19 test taken no more than 3 days before departing on their flight. Super fitting info for National Plan a Vacation Day!

This applies to all passengers (over the age of 2) who are traveling internationally via plane (air) to the US, including US citizens, legal permanent residents, those who have had the vaccine, and those who have tested positive for anti-bodies.

If one has recovered from Covid within 3 months of their departure to the US, they must show a letter from their healthcare provider clearing them to end isolation. A letter from a public health official is valid as well.

FAQ’s:
❓ If one chooses to not take a test or show the proper documentation, airlines must deny boarding.
❓ If one tests positive, they must enter isolation and cannot board planes to the US until recovered.
❓ If one is only in the US for the purpose of a layover, a negative test is still required.
❓If one has layovers on their way to the US, their negative test must be obtained within 3 days of the initial departure. Layovers outside of the US cannot exceed 24 hours.
❓ If one’s flight is delayed, and passes the 3-day limit for testing, a new negative test must be obtained.
❓ If one’s international trip is less than 3 days, a negative test is still required.

If you have more questions or need to find a valid testing site before boarding a plane to the US, please visit the CDC website, or your country’s equivalent resource for disease control + updates.

“I really want to travel! How do I start?”

I’d love to say “just go!” But I realize SO much more goes into travel! Save this post to refer to later & start thinking...

✨ What are you comfortable with? Local or driving distance? Short plane ride? International? Can you leave for an extended period of time? There’s no right or wrong answer, adventures can happen anywhere!

✨ Do you want to go solo? With friends? Or meet up with other travelers? That’ll help determine how much coordination needs to happen 🙂

✨ Find a safe place to stay in a central location (search for: hotels, Airbnb’s, and hostiles), and research transportation (example - is there a subway or a reliable bus system, or should you plan on taxis & ubers).

✨ Select a few sites you want to visit but aways leave time for spontaneous exploring too!

✨ Book your tickets, pack your bags & go! There will always be some fear. You may never feel ready. Something will come up that may make you want to stay. Do it scared... you’ll be so thankful you did! ☺️
