As a , I am grateful for the people that make up MY village, 365. Erryday!

But a gratitude reflection in my business looks a lot like going through old photos. Seeing all the couples that have trusted us with their most sacred celebration- for almost 2 decades.

Reflecting on our growth…personally, professionally, and structurally.

I’ve invested in dope, difference making programs that have challenged, stretched and grown my business approach.

Upgrading my tools, my tech, and my network has shaved years off of the time it would have taken me to develop on my own.

I am grateful to be clearer, confident and standing in my own vision & version of what it means to run this business.

We take a break from our regularly scheduled program to announce that my one and only true love is 18 today.

I always say I chose my husband. But this little boy...I loved him before I even knew him. His sheer presence was enough to make him my Forever Love.

With all the talk of what this milestone birthday legally means; while we transition into adulthood and empty nesting, I was sure to remind him that wherever in the world he may be, he will NEVER stop being mine.

"All 18 means is that I learn to care for you differently."

He's an incredible human. Charismatic, driven, quick witted and nobody's fool!

And like his father, it is a pleasure to know him should you be lucky enough to have the chance.

Reminiscing on the days when the man child was so much smaller and I worked so much harder to make sure he felt safely included on days like today.

I took such pride in putting together allergy friendly treats & tokens that were fun, yet ANY child could enjoy.

See the man child has several food allergies, so parties and holidays were especially challenging and I've always had to advocate for him, for food-free alternatives, for safe inclusion.

LOL, I remember a time, where I went to all of the neighbors on our street and gave them allergy free chocolate bars & dum dums so he could have the trick or treat experience.

Now...he's a few weeks from 18, makes plans, goes to haunted houses- with friends and it just reminds me how much we've been through & how far we've come.

You see, planning isn't just a profession, it's a way of life for me. And I'm so grateful to have had to challenge myself in every aspect of what it means to gather together and make meaningful memories.

I have all the things to do. And being a mom first, means work flow on the go today. Did you know my truck center console doubles as an office?

Finalizing COVID appropriate ceremony & reception seating pods. And moving on to tackle the post-it pile!

I know it looks crazy but it totally apart of my finalization process. Each note no matter how messy or illegible represents a task. It’s like having a triple accountability system.

I have a master checklist. But I post-it note the random things that pop into my head (a question, an email, a phone call) and then re-writing it also serves as an extra memory boost.

WILD I know! Maybe next week, I’ll let you in on my white boarding process. I’m dangerous with an expo marker.

You ever have one of those days? Let’s face it, maybe even a series of days, we’ll you just don’t feel - super?

Im not talking physical health. I mean mental fatigue, plate overloaded, and you can’t seem to think your way out of a paper bag.
⠀
Well this is me friends...in one of my favorite shirts, just not feeling super full of the energy or ideas needed to tackle & work around what needs to be done.
⠀
And maybe you feel like that with your own event plans too?
⠀
And I promise you it’s ok. But it’s also why planning boundaries are SO important. If your event is the only thing you work on, the only thing you talk about, and the only thing you are making time for, you’ll be overloaded and burnt out before you know it.
⠀
And that is no way to enjoy this moment - this milestone in your life.
⠀
You must allow yourself to take a break and take a breath. And the same goes for me. I don’t get here often but COVID, mandates and updates are working on me this month.

So I’m checking out for the afternoon, in order to be fresh for client meetings this evening.
⠀
