The sun glistening on crystal clear water, it is a beautiful day at the beach! If you’re from a surrounding state you may want a hoodie, if you’re from a northern state you may want to take a dip 🙂. It just depends what you’re acclimated to for weather. Yes, multiple people were swimming 🥶 .

New cabinet arrangement, quartzite counters lowered to one level, sink, and faucet are in! Working on scraping popcorn ceiling, recessed lights, painting cabinets, and repairing some wall paint. Hello Sunshine Villa is going into 2024 looking fresh 🩵.

Better than a lucky penny, a sand dollar!
Found and left on a sand bar at west beach this morning. Since it is brown and hairy you could assume it is still living. When you find them hard and white you found a treasure to keep. It was still fun to see and photograph.

Are you a color lover? There are so many beautiful choices that can work at the beach! This is the new quartzite stone going in the kitchen, along with a picture of the adjoining living room and the current wallpaper and paint (Wickham Gray). The big decision now is what color for cabinets?

This fall we have some fantastic things happening inside and out, so much that we will need new pictures soon 🙂👏 . For now, just a couple of small updates that you may not notice in style, but we are all about comfort too! New taller upgraded toilets for all 3 bathrooms and a new mattress on the hideaway downstairs. We get a lot of compliments on our quality mattresses upstairs, and while you can only do so much on a sofa, we wanted the best possible 👍. It really is the little things 🩵.

In or out on nighttime kayaking? Looks pretty cool!

Last night we took a kayak glow tour with Sea View Tours out to Bird Island in Bayou Saint John where we looked for crabs and jellyfish! This is a great way to get out of your comfort zone and perfect for even children! The next time you’re planning a Visit Alabama Beaches trip, reach out to the Seaview team!

What The Shell?

This lightning whelk was found on West Beach not far from the access for Hello Sunshine Villa. Did you know?

There are multiple types of whelks, but Lightning Whelks are lefties is one way you can identify this one. Yep! There is a difference in whelks depending on which side opens. A Pear Whelk has a right handed opening. Lightning Whelks have reportedly been significant in Native American cultures in both daily and spiritual life. One article (https://30a.com/lightning-whelks/) states because their shell spirals clockwise it is thought to signify light to darkness and birth to death.

Small refresh 💙. Salt air is lovely, but also creates a lot of rust. Our rusty rod broke but now replaced with a fresh new one to offer you a little privacy and shade on the upstairs balcony.

This is where we like get a peek of the waves at the start of each day.

“Ain’t nothing a Bushwhacker can’t fix” was the sign on Bahama Bob’s our first trip to Gulf Shores.

This place quickly became a favorite with delicious food and drinks, and well the Bushwhacker specifically. Plus, we always had great service. Yesterday Bahama Bob’s had a significant fire. I didn’t know we would mourn a restaurant but here we are, and we are hoping it reopens soon! We are thankful that no one was injured and wish the staff the very best in this uncertain time.

👋☀️ Tip 😉:
We were tired after a long day at the beach. Instead of going to a restaurant, we visited S&S Seafood Market and brought back steamed crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, and hush puppies and ate on the balcony. It was perfect! Delicious food and no hassle.
(They are just around the corner, you can even walk from the villa they’re so close.)
