If you are planning a trip to the this holiday weekend, check out a few tips that might make your outing a bit safer and more enjoyable:

There are no fire restrictions in effect right now on the forest. If you DO have a campfire, be sure to have it in a safe area, always attend it, and use the drown, stir, and feel method to ensure it is out.

Leave your fireworks at home. The forest is no place for fireworks. (It’s also illegal to have them there too.)

Pack out all your trash. It really is YOUR responsibility.

Keep your OHV’s on designated roads and trails appropriate for the size of vehicle. It’s pretty easy!

Yep. Crockpots are great - we have two in the kitchen here. Makes it easy to prep a delicious dinner while you’re taking turns at Wolf Creek Ski Area, just 35 minutes away.

Not far from the front door; check out some of the hidden treasures in Colorado and avoid the traffic and crowds along the I-70 corridor.

There are four phenomenal waterfalls within a short drive of Pagosa Springs. These waterfalls span from easy to moderate in hiking difficulty and there’s even one you can see from the parking lot. So, there’s something here for everyone.
