Samula Heritage Festival, a new immersive festival starts today in Sri Lanka with a programme events covering 3 days.
Designed by Santani Wellness Kandy and charitable sister company The Santani Foundation the festival features healing rituals, interactive workshops and educational sessions aimed at fostering Sri Lanka’s ancient art forms and the nation’s rich cultural heritage. There will be Sri Lankan dance, drumming and craftsmanship, and performances from Gurukulas (spiritual schools).
The festival is open to all, and aims to foster talent, promote conscious tourism and revive dying traditional art forms.

We are delighted to be touring Morocco.🇲🇦
It’s an amazing country of contrasts and landscapes and really beautiful at this time of year.
The first part of our trip takes the route from Marrakech across the High Atlas to Ouarzazate, and then the Southern Oases to the dessert at Merzouga.
On our way we’ve visited Berber villages, hiked up stunning mountainsides, stopped besides picturesque waterfalls, stepped along impressive gorges and gazed out across beautiful verdant valleys.
We’ve wandered in ancient Kasbahs, stayed in unique and beautiful boutique hotels and had dinner beneath the stars in a luxury Berber camp.

As 2023 draws to a close, we look back to some of our own and our client’s most memorable adventures.
We have blissed out in overwater villas in the Maldives; enjoyed cosy weekend breaks Scandi style, met tea pluckers of Sri Lanka and attended a puja to the famous tooth relic of the Buddha ; we’ve flown across the world to reunite with friends and family in Australia and fulfilled lifelong dreams on the sumptuous Orient Express.

The magic of the place is in the people that you meet and the stories that you hear.
These are the words of our guide Praveen. He showed us around Galle Fort, the place where he has lived his whole life.
He was so knowledgeable of its history and its culture as many guides would be. However, he also added in those little anecdotes that made it more interesting that only a person who truly knows it could do.
For anyone who is a cricket fanatic this also included where to view the matches at the famous Galle cricket ground from the ramparts.
Our experience finished by meeting an award winning artist and trying our hand at mask carving, an art form that Sri Lanka is famed for.
Places are best visited through the eyes of a local.

On our recent trip to Sri Lanka we did a jeep safari at two of the countries national parks, Wilpattu and Yala. As these are on opposite sides of the country it gave us the opportunity to balance the cultural elements of our itinerary with some wildlife viewing.
Whilst we were not lucky enough to see the elusive leopard the array of animals that we did spot was amazing. Including, elephants (and their baby), wild boar, domestic and wild buffalo, crocodiles, snakes, deer and an array of bird life.
Our ranger was not only great at spotting the wildlife but was so knowledgeable in helping answering our many questions about the animals. Our guide in Yala National Park even had a platter of beautifully presented snacks and fruits on board.

Mdina the ancient capital of Malta until the arrival of the Order of St John in 1530 remains a wonderful mix of medieval alleyways and fortress walls.
It had something of a revival in the 18th century so is also brimming with the baroque.
Arriving later in the day means the crowds have disappeared and the narrow streets give way to rich colours and hushed tones.
It’s simply great to just stroll and take it in.
Wonderful restaurants pop up in quiet corners and every street is faithfully preserved to ensure that you’re seldom rudely reminded of the modern age.
