Something a little different for a Sunday Afternoon.
I found this in the BBC Archives, a video about a haunted nightclub here in Sheffield, that first aired on Nationwide on Thursday 29th January, 1970.
It makes for interesting viewing but what’s curious is I’ve worked out where the nightclub casino was, it’s something different nowadays, and it’s a place where ghosts and paranormal activity are still being reported.
If you are in this video, or you know anyone in this video especially Big Derek, I would love for you to get in touch!
The full story behind this is coming to the Sheffield Showcase Specials in a few weeks and then it’ll be one of the new stories added to my regular Plague Pits to Paradise Walk. But I’d love to speak to a few people who might remember this story from back in the day - I’m sure there’s a fair few about! It was The Cavendish Club.

The final moments of SOLD OUT - Ghost Train - Destination: Unknown 29/07/24. It was a somewhat chaotic night but it was also a lot of fun!
Happy New Year! And that can mean only one thing: it’s time for Auld Lang Syne.
Here’s a video taken at December’s Krampusnacht, filmed at The Dorothy Pax, with Rebecca L Hearne.

Here’s a video taken at Krampusnacht, with myself and the very talented Rebecca Hearne, tell the story of The Yule Cat, filmed at The Dorothy Pax.
Let me know if you guys enjoyed it and I may upload another video or two over the holidays.
And for those who have asked? Rebecca and I will be putting on another special in March with full details to be annouced in early January.

Something a little different for you this fine Solstice. Here’s an extract from my latest book: Crown & Spectre about an unlikely ritual once carried out on the Royal Sandringham Estate.
Peter McGiffin is the narrator, as the audio is taken from the audible version, and I did the visuals.
Let me know if you enjoy this as I may do more videos like this in future if they’re of internet.

I’m all set up here at Firebug Leicester ready for tonight’s performance of Crown & Spectre.
I’m going to be talking about a son of the city, a former footballer turned BBC pundit, who broke the BBC impartiality charter by speaking out against a government policy he saw as injust and inhumane.
Your clue? I’m not talking about Gary Lineker…
A little video from Sandbar Manchester.
Absolutely amazing venue and I have to say they really do make the best pizza.
Roll on Wednesday when I’ll be in Leicester.
Having the snooker in town certainly throws up some weirdness to Sheffield…
So to counter that here’s a little bit of historical weirdness explaining just who those stone figures are on the front of Town Hall.
Important Information: The start location for the following two City Centre Ghost Walks has changed:
8pm Friday 21st April - Sheffield’s Darkest Night
8pm Friday 28th April - Plague Pits to Paradise
The new start / end point is now on Pinstone Street at the front of Sheffield Town Hall.
This is due to the Snooker coming to the Crucible and hijacking Tudor Square. The walks content will be exactly the same. It’s just a new start / end point.
From May onwards we will be back to our original start / end point.
