I say it often because it is one of my favorite parts of this job, but I love getting pictures from clients when they are traveling.

This picture was sent to me late last night, from clients currently traveling in Iceland. While seeing the Northern Lights is never guaranteed, we built their itinerary around hiking, relaxing, and seeing beautiful countryside….with the ultimate bucket list goal of catching a view of the Northern Lights.

We are currently approaching the next solar maximum, which happens roughly every 11 years, and that meant Iceland and Norway were an easy destination choice for these clients as the auroras are more vivid across the Arctic regions.

While it was just a text, I could hear her excitement about what she just witnessed and it has me still smiling today thinking they checked off a major bucket list item last night.

What is the Solar Maximum?
The solar maximum is a phase in the sun’s 11-year cycle of solar activity, known as the solar cycle. During this period, the sun experiences heightened activity, including increased sunspots, solar flares, and coronal mass ejections. These phenomena boost the solar wind and magnetic activity in space, leading to more intense and vibrant auroras. This is why the solar maximum is a prime time for witnessing the Northern Lights. It is estimated the next solar maximum will occur around January 2025, making travel to Iceland and Norway ideal right now.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre, in Colorado, was inspired by the ancient Greek amphitheater at Taormina, on the Southern Italian island of Sicily.

The ancient Greek amphitheater in Taormina was built by Greek colonists in the third century BC and reconstructed by the Romans five centuries later. Comparable to Red Rocks, its natural acoustic qualities allow 20,000 people to hear natural voices.

Red Rocks has been holding performances for over a century however it was formally dedicated on June 15th, 1941, after it was purchased by the city of Denver in 1927, where it underwent construction to become the open-air amphitheater we know today. Red Rock’s holds a capacity of 9,450 people.

The amphitheater is open to the public to explore if you can’t get a performance ticket, so all can enjoy this amazing work of art.

Based on wagon trails from the California Gold Rush, America’s first highway from Illinois to California was started in 1929- Route 66.🚗

Along historic Route 66 in Amarillo Texas, billionaire Stanley Marsh Ill created a work of art featuring 10 Cadillacs buried nose-first in the ground. Today it is known as Cadillac Ranch.

While it is easy to pass, as it is located in the middle of a wheat field, visitors to this area are encouraged
to stop, walk around, decorate the cars with spray paint.

While it may just seem like a dusty forgotten town in Northern New Mexico, just east of the Rio Grande, there is so much more to Taos Pueblo than a couple ladders and adobe houses.
With history dating back to over 1000 years, this little village is everything but boring.

Taos was designated a National Historic Landmark on October 9, 1960. In 1992 it was designated as a UNESCO Heritage Site. As of today, about 6-/ families still live in the historical pueblo full-time, with no running water or electricity.
