Are you someone who typically fishes in the summer months but would like to learn more about spring salmon fishing? we are delighted to be hosting our annual spring salmon fishing clinic at the stunning Cambus O' May beat on the River Dee from the 31st March to the 4th April this year. The beat is fully booked all season, so we are lucky to have this fishing.

Other than making sure our guests have an amazing time on the river, we will be aiming to cover the following:-

• Equipment, rods, reels, lines & flies for the spring

• Tactics for the spring / day ahead as per the conditions

• Description of the pools to be fished and likely taking spots / areas to focus on and to come back to

• Watercraft / reading different salmon pools

• Angles to fish your fly depending on the pool

• Casting techniques that make life easier with a sunken line and with the conditions we are presented with on the day

• Hooking and playing salmon

It was great to be back out teaching spey casting on the today. Joey had booked our package of a mornings tuition followed by lunch .house he did extremely well for his first lesson, apparently the lunch was excellent too!

We are delighted to have some Scottish Fly Fishing Co branded tube fly wallets in stock. We think very carefully about what can benefit the angler in a practical sense with aesthetics also being a key focus. These wallets will come with 10 tube flies and 10 dressed doubles for salmon. What a great end to Mr Franks 60th birthday celebration, with the birthday boy landing his second ever fish right at the end of the day. Perseverance paid off and his partner, best friend and wife were all there to witness the fish being hooked, played and landed. Great memories were made.

A great evening exploring our new beat which has over 3 miles of fishing in beautiful surroundings, with the chance of catching salmon, sea trout and some big brownies. The beat has huge potential and it was great to have landed a fresh grilse from it last night.
