2022 was a great year for travelling. Despite record high prices in gas, we managed to do over 33,000 kilometres of exploring Canada and the USA.
There is so much to see, and so much of it is closer than you think. I cannot wait to find new discoveries for 2023!

Ophidiophobia - the fear of snakes.
Many people fear snakes; in fact, so many people have some level of fear of snakes that it might be something we are born with. A lot of snakes in this world are dangerous to humans.
Fortunately for me, I live in a section of the world with no dangerous snakes, and yet, I dread encountering one in the wild. Seeing a snake while on a hike will ruin my whole experience, and I will have nightmares for days afterwards.
But I love the outdoors and hate this stupid phobia. After five decades, I am finally improving, and maybe in another five decades, I will eventually overcome my phobia.
I do admit that snakes are interesting, and if there is a nice sheet of glass between me and it, I am fine and can press my face right up to it. Here are some of the snakes I have encountered in my travels.

There is something magical when we visit a garden. It is one place we see often.
Here are a tiny bit of some of the gardens that we have seen.
I have created a new Google Map that shows most of the state and provincially run campgrounds in our area. I use this map to help plan where we will be staying for the night. It is a much better experience being out in nature, under the stars, waking to the chorus of birds and cooking our own food, than going to a hotel every night.
