Reflection Cottage at Seabrook

Happy New Year everyone! As 2012 came to a close, so did our connection with Reflection Cottage. We were forced to give it up, and it was a sad day last month when we had to say goodbye to our little gem on the coast, and all the wonderful friends we've met at Seabrook since 2008.

Our guest book is filled with heart-warming stories from people who made lasting memories while staying at our cottage, and that will always be a treasure for us.

Thanks to everyone who shared in making Reflection a special place. I have heard that the new owners intend to rent the cottage in the future. While some of the fixtures and character will undoubtedly change as the new owner brings their own style and personality to the place, we hope that the cottage will continue to offer fabulous vacation times to those who visit.

Now that summer vacation is half over, summer weather is finally here! Things are humming along at the cottage. The UFO-looking BBQ finally gave up the ghost and the company doesn't make parts for it, so a new electric BBQ arrived Friday. Hope everyone enjoys it!

Razor clamming has been fabulous last month or so. Sunny, wonderful weekends, huge clams, and easy limits! And if you're not into clamming that's fine, there's lots of other fun stuff to do! New book store at the Blue Spa, Colours studio, art exhibits by the resident artist, and beach, beach, beach!

Seabrook is having a "win the use of a beach house for a year" contest, so sign up! Not sure if that publicity is doing it, but the Reflection calendar sure is filling up, so book your dates soon if you have a specific time frame you're interested in.

Another refresh and Reflection is good to go. And by popular request, we have a waffle maker now! (Check our web site for a note on using it) We went to the Colours studio and it was super fun!

The pool is open!

Seabrook, Washington was developed so that all is accessible in a short walk or bike ride. Take a bike ride to the pristine stretch of Washington coast, or enjoy activities in town on a big comfortable bike. You'll feel like a kid exploring the Washington coast.

Well, we did visit in March to do a final prep for summer, and we just got back last week after a whirlwind summer of guest visits. Happy to see that the cottage is still in great shape, and the town is booming with new services and construction. Everything is replenished, repainted, cleaned and shiny for our guests! I'm the type who has a messy desk but likes the stainless steel pots to SHINE, so that's what we do on our maintenance trips, in between chillin' at the beach!

Finally made it out here. Weather was supposed to be crummy but it's only dreary; yesterday we saw the sun, visited with Cottage Rentals and the owner of the Salty Dog, and toured the Coastal Living Idea House. Lots of really cute homes coming up in town, and they're really moving on those townhouses. Got our required lemon scones from Lil's, and had dinner last night at the Ocean Crest. Yum! Reflection is looking really good; thanks everyone! Will get busy today stringing up some "reflective" lights on the front porch, and adding a bunch of little things on the inside. One you'll sure to notice next time is a new photo for the bedroom.

We keep finding cool stuff to buy for the cottage, so by mid-October you should see more movies, a really cute coffee cup set, new outdoor lighting, more additions to the lantern collection, and more!
