Well yesterday’s weather was WILD but today is perfect for collecting a big armful of rhubarb. The orchard at Cloud River Farm is beginning to bloom and our bees are in a buzzing frenzy as to where to head first. It’s always so exciting and we are filled with hope for a good season of fruit ahead. In the meantime we have an abundance of ruby red rhubarb, spinach, lettuce, kale, herbs and spring onions in the garden for you, our guests to pick and cook whilst you are staying here. Book now! VINTAGE LOVE💋
We love to fill our home and cottage at Cloud River Farm with vintage pieces. Gorgeous items with a story that have been used and loved by families before us. Kitchenware that would have been used to create delicious family feasts and everyday meals by my grandparents and relatives but especially my darling Nan. Time spent in the kitchen with her are my most treasured memories. The ones that make me feel loved and cared for. A cup of Billy Tea poured from the teapot complete with tea cosy, into a beautiful china cup. I am a complete tea addict as it’s my way of spending time with her still, every day. I love her so much.
If you are looking for vintage treasures, I always have plenty for sale as I am always swapping things in and out and my collections are bursting out of walls of our home. HELP!!!! What are you looking for? I am bound to have it. Just ask.

Nothing from is going to last until Christmas it seems!!! We are sooooo fortunate here in the Huon Valley to have such amazing bakers, that we also cherish as friends. The issue is the ever expanding waistline. What is the point of resisting? Be tempted but hurry, after tomorrow they are taking a very well deserved break to recuperate. I have my stash already so now I can breathe easy……. except for the tight pants of course!!!!

I had completed exhaustion my stock of our homegrown broad beans so was very grateful to be able to harvest another beautiful load today. They have been picked, shelled, packed carefully and now tucked away into the freezer for many batches of broad bean hummus over the Summer months. A happy day!!!

Friday arvo shopping, Cloud River Farm style. Having such amazing produce on our doorstep as well as in our garden is what I really love living here in the Huon Valley. The enormous bonus for me though is knowing the amazing people who are creating such deliciousness and sharing their knowledge. Thank you @gardners_bay_farm for my incredible veggie box each Friday and as always, my dear friends @poolishandco keep me needing the stretch pants!!! Some important shopping to do at the markets, early this morning before heading up the mountains. Selecting the best durians is a very fine skill indeed! There is much excitement during durian season. We found them to be the most perfect gifts.
