This is a renovation project of an 1880’s beach house that was one of the original structures built in town. It was used as a rooming house for tourists, who visited the shore and to hear big bands that played at the pavilion in the summer. Modern flood rules for NJ require for the home to be lifted 10 inches to comply with new floodplain height. Ouch. So here we go! The forms for the footing of the house have been placed over the helical piers. The piers were drilled down 30ft through the soft sand into the underlying harder soil layers. The contractor added the rebar mesh throughout the forms to strengthen the concrete that is being pumped into the forms.
