Costa Rica recap 🇨🇷

Last week, I hosted a women’s group trip to Costa Rica with and 18 woman decided to tag along 🎉

We hiked to waterfalls in the pouring rain, relaxed in hot springs, danced to reggae, zip lined through the rainforest, posed beneath volcanos, tried fresh coffee and chocolate, and so much more!

The location was amazing, but the people truly made this trip what it was 🫶🏼

It was extra special having my momma, my prego sissy, my amazing TBM community manger , and repeat travelers join 🥹

Our itinerary was great, but I probably would have tagged on a few extra days to hang at the beach. July was a great time to go, even though it was a bit rainy. Don’t let that deter you!

Cities:
📍San Jose
📍La Fortuna
📍Monteverde

Activities:
✨Arenal Volcano Slopes Hike
✨Natural Hot Springs Resort
✨Selvatura’s Hanging Bridges Tour
✨Rainforest Night Walk
✨Tenorio National Park Guided Hike
✨Canopy Zip Line Tour
✨Chocolate & Coffee Tour
✨Horseback Riding

What happened in between ⬇️

How’d I go from “no thanks” to “take our money” ?!🤪

1.) 2022: I was still a very new creator at this time (not even a year in) and bluntly I had no idea what I was doing when it came to travel partnerships. The only reason why I pitched them was because I was going to be in the area 🤦‍♀️. There was minimal effort, no research, and no substance. I sent a very general pitch that was definitely a little too “me, me, me” (unintentionally of course). The worst thing was that I don’t think I was even following them on social media 😅. I can laugh about it now and I’m still proud of my newbie self for reaching out!

2.) 2023: I continued to nurture my relationship with the DMO - engaging on social media and connecting in person at events and conferences. I grew as a creator, knew their goals well, and knew exactly who my audience was and what I could offer. I applied for a 5 day press trip and was accepted!

3.) 2024: Their team reached out to me about a paid collaboration to help them promote their new marketing campaign. In the email, they noted how easy I was to work with and how well my previous content performed. It may seem simple, but being communicative, responsible, and delivering results to the best of your ability does wonders. I also always make sure I show my appreciating with a thank you note, an analysis, and a follow up about working together again. Going above and beyond for companies that are aligned has always paid off for me 10 fold.

Moral of the story - a no isn’t a forever no. I know rejection sucks, but just keep growing, networking, and learning. Reaching your goals will be that much sweeter! 🫶🏼

My biz is TWO 🥳

Two years ago I quit my 9-5 job in healthcare, moved to Puerto Rico solo, and officially registered (zero idea what I was doing fyi).

I was making $300/month from content creation at the time and had $40,000 saved to travel the world for one year. After my year was up I planned to move to the Boston area, work for a hospital there, and settle.

Two years later and my biz is still going strong 💪🏼

I’m definitely not where I thought I would be when I went full-time two years ago, but it’s because I honestly didn’t know half of these things were possible!!

-Over the past few years I have worked with hundreds of travel brands, hotels, airlines, tour companies, and tourism boards.

-I have started, grown, and monetized my blog, podcast, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, and email list.

-I have spoken at 5 major conferences, both in the US and abroad, and many virtual summits and events.

-I have launched three amazing programs for travel creators (The Money Making Traveler, Travel Boss Membership, and Travel Creator School) with over 600+ enrollees.

-I have been able to travel (and host trips) to over 40 countries including bucket list places like Indonesia, Egypt, and Antarctica.

All thanks to content creation 🙌🏼

It’s been an amazing ride that wouldn’t have been possible without YOU. Thank you for being a part of this community 🫶🏼 Cheers to two more years!

P.S. If travel creation is of interest to you, comment “HANDBOOK” to grab my free guide 🎉

I took this morning to relive some of those “pinch me” moments from my 2023 travels.

I am so grateful for all the incredible experiences, the beautiful places, the amazing people, and of course YOU.

I wouldn’t be living my dream life if it wasn’t for you. Thank you for being a part of this community 🫶🏼

Spot brand deal SCAMS‼️

I was chatting with an aspiring travel creator in my DMs about how to spot brand partnership scams.

Sometimes they are obvious, but sometimes they aren’t.

Here are some red flags to look out for when working with brands:

1.) Email Address. Always check the email account to make sure it is legitimate. The email structure should be name@company or name@pr firm.

2.) Name Line. If the name line is Hello, Hi, Hey, or your social media handle/name, a red flags should go up as a mass outreach (not what you want).

3.) Content. If the email content is loaded with typos, strange fonts, random caps, etc. then proceed with cautions.

4.) Purchase. If they are requiring you to purchase the product and/or pay for shipping. They should either ship it to you or give you a gift card for the purchase. The only exception to this is if there is an age requirement (like with alcohol) then the purchased should be reimbursed per the contract.

5.) Discounts. Similarly, travel companies may reach out to “partner” but in a reality they either want you to promote them and get x amount of sign ups for a “free” trip or to join a trip for a discounted rate. Just make sure you know what you are signing up for.

6.) DMs. Long copy and pasted DMs from jewelry companies, clothing companies, and press companies.

7.) Contract. If the brand doesn’t want to sign a contract or doesn’t have a contract. This should be an immediate red flag, unless you want to draft a contract with a lawyer yourself (but better charge extra for that).

Have you ever worried about being scammed by a brand? Let me know in the comments ⬇️

P.S. Something BIG is coming 👀 comment “PAID” if you want early access!

Some tough love for ya ⬇️🙈

Having a platform doesn’t mean you are entitled to getting free and paid partnerships.

You gotta WORK, babe!

I started pitching hotels when I had around 80 followers. I remember thinking, “I have a platform now and because I put hotel reviews in my bio, every hotel will want to work with me!”

We love the delusion, but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.

In order to start working with hotels, brands, and tourism boards, you first need to know what you are offering them.

Here are big 3:

1.) A big audience: In this situation you are offering them numbers. A large amount of eyeballs will be exposed to the brand, meaning more chances of someone making a purchase.

2.) A niched audience: In this case, you might not have have a large audience, but you do have a very niched/engaged audience. The numbers exposed my be smaller, but if the promotion is aligned, it’s likely most of the audience will be interested.

3.) Skilled content: Lastly, high quality content or UGC. I’m this case your audience doesn’t matter, but your content better be good. This means being skilled at writing, editing, photography, storytelling, etc.

If you aren’t sure which of the big 3 you can offer, no worries! All of these can be approved upon 🙌🏼 but you do need to put in the work.

Which of the big 3 are you working on?

P.S. I’m hosting a FREE masterclass called “3 Ways You Can Get Paid to Travel”. Comment “PAID” and I will send you the link to join 🎉

100K 🥹🎉😍

No matter when you started following me, know I love and appreciate you!

In a world that focuses on followers, I focused on building a community first and foremost. And it has paid off in ways that no random following ever could.

Here’s what my Insta journey looked like:

May 2021: I started this account to show my travels to my friends and family. I had no idea what I was doing.

October 2021: My vision for the account grew. I hit 100 followers (it took 5 months). I really didn’t know who was following me and I was following terrible advice.

November 2021: I started studying Insta experts to learn more about what was working and what I should be focusing on. I had about 500 followers.

December 2021: I had a 1:1 call with a social media coach (). I revamped my account and focused on my branding and message. I had about 650 followers.

January 2022: I hit 1,000 followers by focusing on building my brand and community. My fav milestone! I also got my first paid brand deal 🎉

March 2022: I grew my community to the infamous 10K! This milestone is so hyped up, but it was actually the worst for me. I cried and not tears of joy!

April 2022: I quit my full time job to travel and create content! I had 15K and was just offered my first big travel partnership. Instagram also started paying me.

May 2022: I hit 20K and attended my first major travel conference, meeting creators from all over the world!

July 2022: I was traveling all around Europe and had press trip after press trip. I also launched my first group trip. I had 25K at this time.

November 2022: I spoke at my first creator conference and launched my two signature programs for travel creators. I had around 30K people in my community.

January 2023: I hit 50K! I was feeling really good about the direction of my account and enjoyed how I was helping women.

November 2023: 100K and still learning, growing, and loving being on this platform.

Growing a community on here has been one of the best things I have done.

If you want to learn more about what I did to get to each level comment “100K” and I will DM you the link to my Travel to 100K masterclass for 50% off 🎉

Travel vs. Home

Anyone else torn at times?!

I feel so grateful to have a job that allows me to travel the world, but sadly my loved ones are not in the same boat.

This means leaving for weeks or months at a time and missing lots of little moments with the people that mean the most to me.

I’ve also missed some pretty big moments that I will never get back. But on the flip side, I’m making memories all around the world and living out my dreams.

Sometimes it feels like I’m being stretch in both directions, no matter what I am doing!

Any other travelers or travel workers feel this way?

P.S. If you are interested in traveling more and getting PAID to travel, comment “PAID” and I will send you the link to my FREE live Masterclass on 11/19 🎉

Vietnam without a visa?!

YEP!

The island of Phu Quoc is the only place in Vietnam that you can visit for 30 days visa free.

I spent 5 days on the island at the amazing .

And omg it was just what I needed after months of crazy travel.

As a elite I got a room upgrade which included TWO balconies, TWO bathrooms, a large living room, bed, and soaking tub 🛁

Plus an indulgent breakfast buffet which y’all know is my fav 😍

I spent my time at the pool (literally one of prettiest I have ever seen), the private beach, coffee shop, and simply enjoying my gorgeous room.

They also had free transfers from the airport and to locations around the island. 🙌🏼

Have you heard of Phu Quac? Let me know if you would visit in the comments! ⬇️

Should you consider a women’s group trip? 🤔

After years of traveling in other ways, I took a group trip to Jordan with 4 other women. It was definitely a bit of a change after years of solo travel, but I ended up loving it!

So much so that I decided to launch my own group trips for women to Bali, Thailand, and now Costa Rica (comment “CR” to join for $100 off) 🇨🇷

Here’s what I love about small group tours and why you should incorporate them into your travels:

1.) They are already planned out. After many years of trip research and planning, it is nice to just be able to sit back and get excited about what is to come.

2.) Transfer included. I love having a pick up from the airport and not having to think about how I’m going to get around. As someone who doesn’t love driving, it is one less stress I have to worry about.

3.) Easily meet new people. On small group tours, your group tends to become like a little family. I have definitely made lifelong friends on mine!

4.) Local connection. When you have a local guide, you are able to connect with locals in ways you wouldn’t be able to otherwise.

5.) Unique experiences. I love that small group tours always throw in something unique that you would never have done yourself (or would even know about)!

Would you consider a women’s group trip? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️

If you want to make lifelong friends, go on amazing adventures, and check another country off your bucket list comment “CR” and I’ll send you the link to my Costa Rica trip for $100 off (limited spots available).

This is 29th ✨

It’s quite symbolic that I am starting my 29th year in the same place where I started my solo travel journey.

The last year of my 20s is going to one for the books. A year saying HELL YES. A year of putting myself so far out of my comfort zone. A year of taking major risks. A year of saying, “F it, I’m doing it.”

Not because I’m scared of my 30s, I’m super excited for them actually. But because I know it will be a time for rejuvenation. I can already feel myself craving more routine, simplicity, and rest.

And I’m going to give myself that because my twenties were a WILD ride.

But not until I go out with a bang 😉

Make sure you follow along for the craziness. I’m so thankful you are on this adventure with me!

And thank you for an unforgettable birthday stay 🌸

Little snippets from my two week road trip from MA ➡️ FL

First time with the doggo and it was so much fun!

I batched most of my content and posts, didn’t book any meetings or calls, and (tried) by best to relax and be in the moment.

It’s not an easy thing when your mind is constantly running with business ideas 🤪

But road trips are definitely one of my favorite ways to travel!!

Tips on course creation ⬇️

My signature course, The Money Making Traveler, launches to the waitlist tomorrow 🥹

I have worked on this course every day for 5 months, so seeing it launch will be a surreal moment for sure. It has been a lot of work, but I have truly loved every second 🙏

I have had so many questions about course creation, so thought I would break it down for y’all!

I took about two months to plan out the course components, research how I wanted to create it and where it should be housed, and complete the module research.

After this was complete, I launched my Beta version and welcomed 22 amazing money makers inside 🙌🏼.

I then took three months to create the slides, film, write the descriptions, and time stamp the 87 video lessons. I want my videos to feel like you are live with me, so I don’t do a ton of scripting or editing. If that is your style, I would recommend another month!

-For my slides, I used .
-For my platform, I used
-For filming I used , but would switch to in the future for a bit better quality. You can also use QuickTime if you are just doing voice overs or videos.

I actually walk you through the basics of this process in my course because it can be a great way to make $$$ and travel 👏🏼

I can’t wait for you to experience The Money Making Traveler! Let me know if you have any questions about TMMT or course creation 🥰

Why I turned down a global brand 😓

Correction: They ghosted me after I called them out on their BS contract.

I was ecstatic when this major brand reached out to partner. I seriously couldn’t believe I was going to work with such a huge company that I love and use often. I felt like I had “made it”.

We agreed upon a price and deliverables and they sent me over the contract. I read it over and my stomach sank. I had never seen a contract like that before. They basically wanted me to sign my life away and they certainly were not going to pay enough for it.

Although I clearly knew they were taking advantage of me, it still took a lot of guts to stick up for myself.

-“What if I say something and they don’t want to work with me anymore.”
-“What if I blow my chances forever.”
-“But it would look so great to have on my media kit.”
-“If I work with a brand like this, people will know I’m legit.”

Thankfully, I did not let these fears stop me. I sent them an email back with everything I wanted changed and the additional payments I would need to receive.

Crickets.

And I’m okay with that. I stuck with my morals and didn’t let them take advantage of me or my services.

It’s time like these that I am so happy that I do not rely solely on brand deals. I am grateful that have I built other sources of income that allow me to be super picky about the brands and companies I work with.

Follow your gut, know your worth, and when things don’t work out, trust that something better will be coming your way ❤️.

If you want to know more about working with brands and making money while traveling, sign up for my free masterclass in my bio!!

Is it too late for you? 🤔

Saturated. We hear that word time and time again.

-There’s too many people on social media
-Remote jobs are too competitive
-There’s already so many photographers
-Those coaches have more experience
-There are enough travel bloggers already

My thoughts on this? It’s BS.

🏨 Imagine if hotels stopped being built because the industry was too saturated.

💖 Imagine if they stopped making romcoms or reality tv shows.

🎤 Imagine if musicians stopped performing cause there’s too many song out there.

That would be crazy right?!

Our niches or goals aren’t any different. The field it not saturated because another you doesn’t exist. There is no one out there with your story, your knowledge, or your creativity.

If you want to start a social media platform - do it!
If you want to look for a remote job - do it!
If you want to start freelancing - do it!
If you want to start blogging - do it!

The only thing hold you back is you.

Have you had a fear for starting something because you thought too many people were doing it? Let me know in comments!

It wasn’t always smooth sailing getting to this place.

There were many stressful days and many days I though “wtf am I doing”.

When the business you created so you can travel more, is now holding you back from traveling 👎🏼

Well, it’s not actually my business. It’s me (Hi, I’m the problem 😅)

As my business continues to scale, I am finding myself with more and more responsibilities. More areas where I need to show up, provide, educate, learn, and create.

Of course I can do these things when traveling, but the intrusive thoughts still come.

What if I can’t connect to wifi?
What if my computer gets stolen?
What if I lose my phone?
What if I can’t find a place to film?
What if I miss that email?
What if I can’t get on that call?

What if what if what if!

It’s times like these when I need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Are these things the end of the world? No. Is there always a solution? Yes.

Solo travel has for sure taught me that!

Do you have fears around growth and leveling up? Let me know in the comments!

30th Country & Updates ⬇️

In 2017, I made a bucket list of things I wanted to do before 30. One of those things was hit 30 countries.

This September, I took the bus from London to Belgium and checked off a major bucket list goal 🥹

Belgium, especially Bruges, absolutely blew me away. I couldn’t have picked a better 30th country!

Since being back in states, I have had time to reflect on my 7 month journey. I really didn’t think I changed that much during that time, but boy was I wrong.

I have evolved so much and that is causing me to want to evolve my travels, my business, and this account.

What does that mean? I want more for myself and this community. I want to empower. I want to support. I want to encourage. I want to have FUN!

I want to travel more intentionally, which for me means going out of my way to support women owned businesses.

I am no longer feeling called to share “Top things to do in xyz” or “What do to in xyz.” I want to share personal stories and experiences.

For content, you will definitely hear me talking more about ways to make money while you travel. It’s almost 2023 and I want all my ladies to have businesses and side hustles they enjoy! It’s truly the golden age for this 🎉

If the evolution of myself, this account, and my content is no longer of interest or no longer serves you, then please do not feel like you have to stay in this community. ❤️ But if you are excited for all that is to come (I certainly am 🥹) then I hope you will continue to join me on this wild ride. I love you all so much and I am so thankful for each and every one of you!

24hrs in Sopot ⬇️

[SAVE 📌]

Myself and a few other travel creators had the pleasure of exploring .sopot.pl for an overnight in October.

Here are all the fun things we did that I would highly recommend!

P.S. I did not go here solo, but it would make a perfect solo trip based on safety, walkability, accessibility, activities, and cost 🙌🏼

Stay: I stayed at and loved it! It was a unique bungalow that was 2 minutes from the beach and the bike path. They also had a restaurant and rooftop!

1.) for coffee and the dreamiest pastries.

2.) Sightseeing tour of Sopot on bikes.

3.) to taste the healing brine waters with a view.

4.) Take in all the lovely buildings and architecture.

5.) to see the stunning open-air forest opera.

6.) Have a stroll through the many city parks.

7.) .by.koziorzemski for the best seafood and wine in Sopot!

8.) for a body treatment & luxury spa experience.

9.) Shop the town at the many shopping streets and malls.

10.) And of course the beach and to see the longest wooden pier in Europe!

Who has Sopot on their list?!
