Compliments of The Navigator newsletter I get, I’ve never been more excited about mass transit (except when I rode the bullet speed train in Japan):
High-speed trains make traveling in Florida a whole lot easier
In a state full of traffic, high gas prices, and road rage, high-speed trains are making travel in Florida a whole lot easier.
The move towards rail travel is led by Brightline, an eco-conscious, high-speed rail company. The company is no stranger to the area. Since 2018, it’s serviced hot spots like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. The routes between those three metropolises come in at about 30 minutes, which is about half the time it would take by car during rush hour.
The company is now expanding its modern and clean biodiesel transportation option to connect Miami and Orlando by early 2023. They also have plans to set up stations in Tampa, Aventura, and Boca Raton as well as the Orlando International Airport. Brightline also has plans to connect Southern California and Las Vegas in just three hours.
Brightline prides itself on providing quick and easy travel with stylish stations that feature work pods and sit-down restaurants. Their trains also include lightning-fast wifi and spacious reclining seats.
Standard tickets between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, for example, start at $10 whereas a rideshare would cost between $50-$75. Travelers visiting Florida will surely save time and money if they go by train.
