🌟WILDERNESS COVE IS REOPENING FOR 2025! 🌟

We are thrilled to announce that Wilderness Cove Campground is now accepting online reservations for 2025! While certain dates and availability are limited as we continue rebuilding from the damage caused by Hurricane Helene, all current site availability is up to date on our website:

• GREEN RIVER GUEST HOUSE: Available beginning March 17
• MOUNTAINSIDE COTTAGE: Available beginning February 28
• CREEKSIDE COTTAGE: Availability TBD
• RUSTIC GLAMPING TENTS: Available beginning April 1
• PREMIUM GLAMPING RETREATS: Available beginning February 28
• 30/50 AMP FHU RV SITES: Availability TBD
• 30/50 W&E RV SITE: Available beginning April 1
• INDIVIDUAL PRIMITIVE CAMPSITES: Available beginning February 28
• INDIVIDUAL W&E PRIMITIVE CAMPSITE: Availability TBD
• GROUP PRIMITIVE CAMPSITE: Available beginning February 28

Here are a few important updates to know before booking your stay:

• TRAVEL DIRECTIONS: Do NOT enter Green River Cove Road from the West. The western entrance to Green River Cove Rd. is still under repair. Please enter through Mill Springs. We recommend entering Silver Creek Baptist Church (4391 Silver Creek Rd, Mill Springs, NC 28756) into your GPS first. Once there, continue down Green River Cove Rd. to Wilderness Cove at 3772 Green River Cove Rd., Saluda, NC 28773.
• NEW CAMPSTORE/CHECK-IN OFFICE: Our previous location was completely destroyed by flooding. When you arrive, pull straight in, and you’ll see the new campstore/check-in office on your left in the small cabin with a porch.
• NO OFFICE PHONE LINE: Our phone lines remain damaged. For inquiries, please reach us through the Contact page on our website or email [email protected], and we will respond promptly. We will let everyone know once we have our phone line back up and running.
• WI-FI: Our internet lines were also damaged, however we do plan to restore wi-fi to the entire campground as soon as possible. We already have Starlink set up for part of the campground, and are working to extend the signal to the entire campground. We expect this will be completed by February 28.
• LIMITED CAMPSTORE INVENTORY: Our campstore inventory is more limited this year. Firewood, drinks, apparel, and certain flyfishing tackle will be in stock, but we recommend coming well-prepared. Feel free to email us with specific questions about inventory before your visit.
• TUBING UPDATE: We will be following County guidance on whether tubing is recommended this year as the cleanup progresses. While not guaranteed, at this time we do expect to offer tubing this summer (late May to early September), though on a more limited basis. If so, there will be 3-hour floats and possibly 2-hour floats, but no 1-hour or 4-hour floats this year. We will be updating our website and posting on facebook as soon as tubing plans are confirmed.
• SAFETY FIRST: Your safety is our priority. While we believe our campground is now safe to host guests, portions of our property will remain offline as we continue repairs throughout the year. The Green River Gorge is still undergoing significant cleanup efforts, so please exercise caution both at Wilderness Cove and in the surrounding area.
• THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT: We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and well wishes over the past few months. Your encouragement means the world to us as we rebuild. The best way to support Wilderness Cove and the Green River community is by making a reservation and coming to visit us!
