💨💨💨Did Santa come early? … as people find things that don’t belong to them in their garden, like a shed, football or a boogie board! 🎁🎁🎁

🎄 The tree, formerly protected in the middle of a pack, has snapped. The first year the tree has been a casualty to the Coll gales. Santa’s elves will review tomorrow with power tools to see if it can be fixed!

🎄Only a small sample of the many wonderful, local gifts available at Coll’s Christmas Fayre today. What a talented community we have.

Photography, sewing, crochet, woodwork, metalwork, and so much more. A fantastic morning, also supporting An Cridhe and Arinagour Primary School

Thanks to Margaret and the team that organise it. A wonderful community morning.

Morning Oban. Wild here, stormbound in Oban since Saturday. We’ll wait and see what the skipper has planned for today, but I don’t fancy a long sail to nowhere.

Coll has seen some big changes in the last 4 years in its 20s/30s population. And what’s great to see today, is an increase in that population in a way that is less job location dependent.

3 young folk now working with CalMac Ferries on the sea-side, an island tradition that Coll hasn’t shared in so much in recent years. Another taking to the farm, and others who have spent time establishing their working life on the mainland and are now doing that from Coll. Not to forget Coll Hotel who have this year seen the return of a lovely team of staff who first came here in 2022/23.

We certainly roll with the changes in Coll, and if this is where you want to live and work, there’s usually a way!

There’s so much on offer here including a small but vibrant school and early-learning setting.

Happy Friday everyone. Enjoy your weekend. Lovely cloud this evening, and Venus for the eagle-eyed.
