Went to Seoracksan National Park again in January.
It is alway a great mountain to visit.

There are 22 national parks in South Korea and 17 are mountain parks.
Out of 17, Mt. Seoracksan NP is absolutely the best one in terms of landscape. No dout about it.
National park rangers often say it "GREAT Seoracksan".
If you want to experience stunning nature in Korea, Seoracksan is Must-visit. No one regrets.

Seoracksan is 3 hours away from Seoul and 3.5 hours away from Andong.

If you like camping but don't have or want to buy all camping equipments, full-option camping site run by Korea National Park Service would be a good solution.
Sanga camping ground is an hour away from Andong by car.
All you need to do is to bring your food. The rest of them are fully provided such as stationary tent, picnic table, cooking utensils and sleeping gear.

If you like hiking, Gayasan national park would be one of the options.
It is one and half hours away by car, which would be a bit far. But if you have enough time to travel, I strongly recommend to visit there and hiking for a way. It is worth.

Last weeken I went there and hiked with an American friend. She is an influencer on foreigners' hiking community. She is a sort of celebrity.

The weather was perfect and Aurora has such a wonderful character. I enjoyed hiking the most ever.

At the enterance, there is a cozy camping site and my family went there the day before hiking day.
We had a very nice night with Korean BBQ.

I work in Wonju, Gangwon province and come to my family in Andong, Gyeongbuk provincefor the weekends.
It sounds a bit far between those two places.
But it takes only one and half hours by car.

Last weekend I invited my family to Wonju over the weekend and visited a couple attractions.
Sogeumgang suspension bridge was one of them and it was the best of the best around this area.

If I have my guests in Wonju, I will definately take them there.

Korea National Park Service(KNPS) runs several nature centers which provides good accommodation and nature experiencing programs. This time I visited Sobacksan nature center located in Youngju city.
If you plan to visit Sobacksan, it would be one of good options to stay overnight.
Good quality and still reasonable rate.
The room in the picture that I stayed was 90,000won per night.

There must be hundreds of camping sites in Korea. Among them Korea National Park Service(KNPS) runs around 35 camping sites throughout the nation.
This weekend I visited Sangui camping site at Juwangsan National Park, which is just an hour away from Andong.
Since it is run by government agency, it is very cost-effective. It is worthy of visiting there.
It is only 60,000won at low season and 80,000won at high season per night.
All facilities and surrounding area are awesome.

Last weekend the weather was so nice and warm.
Some friends of mine told me that Yeggi village is their favorite attraction.
Then I decided to go there with my family.
Since I attained the tour guide license, I have been trying to visit as many attractions as I can.
Then I would be able to make my own itinerary for taking my guests around the area.

Hahoe village and Byeongsan confucian academy are great places to experience Korean traditional stuff. Yeggi village is more like experienceing our nature and current style attraction.

Anyway, I felt that this village is the BEST place to take my friends there. I was so happy to find out this lovely place

Then a week ago I finally received the license.
What a great sensation of pleasure.

There are a few world heritages in Andong.
BongJeongSa temple is one of them.
This time I visited the temple.
But it is winter time when there are no leaves on the trees. Plus due to Covid19, guiding service was not available.
Thus it was not the best time to visit.

However it was good enough to have fresh air and refresh ourselves.
When queen Elizabeth visited here in 1999,
she said that this temple shows the most Korean style landscape and achitecture.

Next time I will come back and take interpretation service.

Korea National Park Service runs 10 nature centers where you can participate in nature program and stay overnight.
Almost all nature centers were built recently so that the facilities are so neat and tidy.

Those pictures below are from Gayasan NP nature center in Seong-ju county, one and half hours away from Andong. an hour away from Daegu.

If you are with kids between 8 yo and 12 yo, I strongly recommend to go there.

Today I did hiking to Mt.Sobacksan with my wife and son.
It was the first time to do all together.
I expected that there would be some autumn color but
it was almost gone. At the foot of the mountain I was barely able to see some autumn leaves.
On the top I could see A LOT OF a royal azalea trees.
No wonder why Mt.sobacksan is so famous for royal azalea blossom festival.
My wife and I promised together that we will be cmoing back next spring during the festival.

In Korea fall weather is the best whatever you do.
Especially going on a trip would be the best option.
Today I visited Byeongsan-seowon, a famous confucian academy listed on world heritage sites.
This academy's biuldings have such a good harmony with nature, which made it become a world heritage.

If you come to Hahoe village, you must visit this seowon.
