Types of work permits
There are several types of work permits that can be granted to foreign citizens: for permanent workers, seasonal workers, for trainees, for athletes, for cross-border workers, nominal work permit. Depending on the category of your activity, the right to extend your temporary stay for employment purposes can be extended up to 1 year, as a general rule. As far as highly skilled workers are concerned, their stay can be extended up to 2 years.

Steps to obtain a work permit
The steps necessary to obtain a work permit are initiated by the employer who will submit the necessary files and pay the applicable taxes at the offices of the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI). All 3rd world citizens are required to obtain a work permit through their local Republic of Croatia diplomatic mission. Therefore, regardless of the work permit, each candidate must apply for entrance visa.

Citizens of non-EU/EEA countries are required at border crossing points to present a passport and a valid entry visa and an invitation (if required). Please check the list of countries whose nationals do not need entry visas for Romania, but the law requires them to present a valid passport at customs. Croatia Work Permit
Officially the Republic of Croatia – it is a country located in south central Europe and Mediterranean region. It borders Slovenia and Hungary to the Northwest, Serbia to the East, Bosnia, Herzegovina and Montenegro to the Southeast, and Italy to the west and Southwest. Its capital and main city is Zagreb.

Croatia is currently in need of a lot of workers. There are lots of industries like construction and tourism, which simply do not have enough manpower. As a result, Croatian companies are looking foreign workers to fill these roles.

Croatia Work Permits

Applicants planning to work in Croatia will need a work permit and a residency permit.
Applicants outside of the EU need to obtain a work permit through their local Republic of Croatia diplomatic mission.
Most Croatia work and residence permits are valid for a minimum 12 months or 2 years.
However, Croatia allows applicants to extend their work permit at least 60 days before it expires if they need to continue to work in the country.
The work permit can further be extended for 2 years at every extension. After residing and working in Croatia for 5 years, applicant becomes eligible for Permanent Residency in Croatia and after 6 years can apply for citizenship subject to meeting eligibility.
An EU Blue Card is a residence permit for qualified non-EU foreign nationals to work in a European country. Croatia is also a part of the EU Blue Card network, which can help third-country nationals.

When foreign staff is hired under an employment contract by a Romanian company, all the provisions of Romanian legislation and tax provisions on salaries or employment-related contributions are to be applied (except for unemployment contributions).

Contributions:

Employers and employees must contribute to the social and health insurance system. The percentages paid by the employer and the employee are based on gross salary and are the following:

unemployment fund 0,5%
health fund 5,5%

Employer contributions

social security fund (CAS) - 20,8% up to 30,8%, depending on the field of activity
health fund 5,2%
unemployment fund 0,5%
holidays Contribution and Allowances Fund 0,85%
contribution to the Guarantee Fund for the payment of wage claims 0,25%
contribution to the Fund for Work Accidents and Occupational Diseases 0,4%

In Romania, all employees and employers have to contribute to the social and health insurance system, in order to become insured.

Therefore, regardless of their country of origin, citizens with a residence permit will benefit from all rights granted by Romanian legislation, regarding social security.

The loss and expiration of the right of residence on national territory ceases your insured status, together with all rights of insurance.

Contribution rates to the social security and health system are established annually, differentiated for employers and employees, and they are based on gross salary.
