Hello everyone! I just got a question about our driveway. When you enter our driveway, it is a “Y”. There is an upper driveway to the right and a lower driveway to the left. Both are relatively long. There is a gentle slope down to the left side (where the vehicles are parked in this picture). Otherwise, both are relatively flat. The one on the left is closer to the cabin entrance. Hope this helps anyone who was wondering. As always, thank you for your interest in Cleavage Cabin!

We got a crazy amount of snow this past week! Note that CHP will only let residents drive up the hill. My heart goes out to all the permanent residents as they dig themselves out! Good luck and stay safe!!

TIP FOR YOUR STAY: If you want to have your morning coffee sitting on the front upper deck, get up early! The sun rises over Lily Rock. It was right at the top and a bit blinding yesterday. This is where it was at today at 1030am! Watching the glow on the rock face at sunset is best!!

Just got an inquiry as to how far Cleavge Cabin is to Strawberry Creek. This is a pic from our back deck. The board in the foreground is the upper deck rail. I am guessing 20 yards…?

We started geocaching while in Idyllwild and have discovered some new and interesting locations! Did you know that there is a small State park in Fern Valley, tucked among several homes that contains native American artifacts? Can you see the grinding rock and pictographs in these photos?

So what did Kara and I do this weekend?....shoveled snow, snow, snow and more snow - the pile of snow blocking the driveway from the snow plow, the driveway, drifts from the roof, walkways to the deck and wood pile and... the deck!
