Summer in the City hosts free pop-up events and activities for all ages in Armagh city centre every Saturday throughout Summer.

Join us this Saturday 22nd July for some circus themed fun right in the city centre for our “The Greatest Show” week. There will be drop in circus workshops, aerial performances, a bubble fairy and plenty of colourful circus folks to entertain out on the streets between 12pm to 4pm. 🎪 🎉

Come to Market Square to try your hand at circus skills, be blown away by the bubble fairy and watch an aerialist defy gravity. Meanwhile in McCrums Court you can test your luck with traditional carnival games, and be sure to keep an eye out for some curious characters around the city centre!

Will be a great night 👏 👏

Now well over 120 seats sold with ten days to go. This will be a great night, with massive local talent supporting - including Méabh Smyth, who has added TG4 Gradam Ceoil Young Musician of the Year to her long list of plaudits. On the night there will be a £5 raffle for a great prize - from the very few remaining of a strictly limited one-off print run, a beautifully framed, high-quality print of JB Vallely's The Living Tradition. This is a painting made especially to raise funds for the Armagh Pipers Club, and the sale of the original painting gave a huge boost to our funds. We are happy to say that we will have our own Dr Paddy Gleeson speaking in person at our next ArcPal lunchtime lecture at 1pm on Tuesday 14th March when he will be giving a talk entitled 'Cult and ritual in later European Prehistory: new discoveries from survey and excavation at Emain Macha'.

He will be talking about all the new survey and excavation work he has been doing at the site, so do come along and see what is happening here in ArcPal. As ever, there will be the pre-lecture sandwich extravaganza.

This will be the final lecture in our series for this semester.

Join us for a family fun afternoon on the eve of St Patrick's Day.

We have a fantastic line up of live music, such as singer flautist Ríoghnach Connolly. Ríoghnach grew up surrounded by a rich musical familial heritage and started to hone her skills through Armagh PipersClub in Armagh. She has being performing on the global stage since.

We are delighted to have fantastic Celtic trad rock band, More Power To Your Elbow. Following recent tours of Norway and Holland, they are reaching new audiences and doing what they do best which is "to play." Included in the line up are local talent Pearse Larkin, the Qua Family Band. Also enjoy Irish dance from the Lorraine Scallon school of Irish Dance, children's activities, face painting and lots more.

Admission is free. The Shambles Yard public car park will be closed for the duration of the event. Please find alternative parking around the city.
