Biking through parks and palaces, exploring side streets and hidden gems, getting a fresh look on themes like Jewish Berlin or Friedrich the Great - these are just some of the adventures we offer. Even if you've lived in Berlin for years, let me show what's hidden under the surface. Our tours are a fun, outdoor activity for kids, teenagers and adults, and an entertaining way to learn new things about places you see every day.

Hello friends, I'd like to invite you to an event celebrating the publishing of my new non-fiction book, Berliner Rebell*innen. Wie junge Jüdinnen & Juden die Geschichte Berlins prägten. The book, aimed at teenagers and young adults and published in German and Hebrew, follows eight Jews who made an impact on the city's history and culture before the age of 25. The event will take place Thursday, Sept 22nd, at 17:30 (5:30pm) at Tucholsky Buchhandlung (Tucholskystr. 47, 10117 Mitte) and will include a one-hour tour (in English) following characters from the book and then readings from the book itself (in German and Hebrew) and questions (in any language). The book can be purchased at the event, in bookshops and directly from the publisher at https://ariella-verlag.de/berliner-rebellinnen/.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Taking in the last of the November sun in a family outing to the Karower Teiche nature reserve in Northern Berlin. It's hard to believe that such extensive nature areas exist within the city limits of Berlin - but they do: Green space comprises about 40% of the city by area.

Congrats, Joe Biden!
Berlin has a long tradition of honoring American presidents - whether it's John F. Kennedy at the Schoeneberg City Hall, where he said "Ich bin ein Berliner" or Ronald Reagan at the Brandenburg Gate, where he called out "Tear down this wall!" But do you know where in Berlin is this statue of George W. Bush?
[Answer Below......]
The statue, erected in 2010 near the Axel Springer Building on the border between Mitte and Kreuzberg, is a part of a memorial named "The Fathers of Unity", privately funded by the Springer Publishing House to honor three world leaders who played a part in the fall of the Berlin Wall - Bush, Gorbachev and Helmut Kohl.

Last Saturday, four families followed me on bikes into the cool reaches of the Tiergarten, where we enjoyed the Fall colors, climbed huge rocks, compared leaf shapes and learned how to move a giant column, how boats avoid waterfalls and what is a Michael Jackson tree. Kudos and thanks to all the kids and parents who participated and made the tour a success. Can't wait for the next one!

As a child, Henriette de Lemos loved to read and learn from her private tutors, but by the age of 14 she was set to be married to a successful medical doctor who was 17 years older than her and destined for the traditional role of a wife and mother. Yet she wanted more, more than was was on tap for Jewish women in 1780s Berlin.
How could she break this mould and create a place of her own? Find out in my upcoming tour, 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞.
