United Arab Emirates operating in Nigeria has announced the reinstatement of its flight operations to Nigeria.
The airlines had earlier announced suspension of flight operations into the country from September 1, 2022, following its inability to repatriate over $85 million of its ticket sales.
But, in response to the development, the Federal Government through the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, released part of the outstanding ticket sales fund.
In an email to customers on Wednesday, the airline noted that starting September 11, 2022, it will restart flight operations to Lagos.
British Airways has confirmed that it will cancel flights up from its winter schedule up to the end of October.
In a statement, the airline revealed that it will also cut a dozen round-trips per day which totals 629 flights.
This comes as Heathrow Airport extends its passenger cap due to staff shortages.
British Airways also said that most cancellations will be on routes which have other daily services to the same destinations and that any passengers affected by the changes will be offered an alternative flight with BA or another airline or a refund.
The winter schedule, which runs from late October until March 2023, will be reduced by 8% and is said to impact around 10,000 flights.
