Highlights include 9 Disney trips (as a kid, with MY kids, and with my GRANDKIDS!), sailing on America’s Cup boats, white water rafting the Atlanta Olympic course, watching the Macy’s July 4 Fireworks from the middle of the East River, driving the Road to Hanna in Maui, renewing my baptism in the Jordan River, cruising the Seine River to Normandy for the 75th anniversary of D-Day, and visiting the famed Taj Mahal in India.

The Azores!!
These 9 gorgeous islands (part of Portugal) are located only 4 hours off the coast of the US in the Atlantic Ocean. Think 🤔 wineries, hiking, natural swimming pools, thermal pools, scuba diving, surfing, waterfalls and even a volcanic chimney! A natural spring provides the water, temps range from 50 to 80 year round, and there are more cows than people. I will be back!!

Last stop… the French Riviera! What a great time with family and friends!

We explored the village of Eze which dates back to the Middle Ages and clings to the mountainside above the Mediterranean Sea. No cars allowed!

Then we toured Nice, and ended with a tasting in Pierre Bianchi wine cellar (featured in Woody Allen’s film “Magic in the Moonlight”).

Corsica. Ajaccio is the capital of Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s also the birthplace and childhood home of the French Emperor Napoléon Bonaparte.

Back onboard we celebrated our journey in The Pinnacle Grill. 🤤Beautiful island!

Rome! Walking food tour through Trastevere tasting pizza, suppli (fried rice ball filled with sauce and mozzarella) and of course gelato! Then on to the Pantheon, Tiber River, Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum.

Watch the Port Pilot video! We didn’t realize that pilots with knowledge about their specific port board our ship to navigate us in and out!

Next stop, Naples, Italy—the birthplace of pizza! We tasted limoncello, drove part of the Amalfi Coast, had lunch in Sorrento and ended the day on a solemn note visiting Mt. Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompeii where 2,000 people were instantly buried in 19 feet of volcanic ash in 79 AD.

Sicily. We visited Taormina, a hilltop town that sits near Mt. Etna. We missed her last eruption by 1 month. The town is known for the Teatro Antico di Taormina, an ancient Greco-Roman theater still used today.

After sunset we sailed through the Strait of Messina and past the Stromboli Volcano which WAS erupting. It was a rocky night with 12 foot waves and 60 mph wind gusts. 😳💨🌊.🙏

Valletta is the capital of the Mediterranean Island nation of Malta. The walled city was established in the 1500s. The very large sailboat seen in the first video is The Maltese Falcon! Watch the Cannon Salute from the Valletta Battery!
