Standing on its hill for nearly 900 years, Farnham Castle is one of the few remaining great medieval houses of England. Historical associations, almost continuous occupancy and careful preservation make the complex of buildings a significant and interesting survivor from the past. The powerful and wealthy Bishops of Winchester built Farnham Castle. For hundreds of years, it served as an administrative centre, fortress and accommodation, providing a convenient stopping place between London and Winchester. After 1660, the Palace became the Bishop’s principal residence. Many English monarchs, from King John to Queen Victoria have visited or stayed at Farnham Castle.

Public transportation is plentiful in London. We took the “tube”, The Underground nearly everywhere we went. It’s not the easiest to maneuver sometimes, especially if you have to switch lines to make it to your destination. My suggestion is to always ask for assistance if you are unsure. The workers are super helpful! You can either buy a one use ticket or an oyster card with credits on it. The odd thing here is that you have to have a card or ticket upon entry and exit. There are more photos in the comments of my experience. #LondonSeries #travelagent #makingmemories
