SAFARI BLUE

THE ROCK RESTAURANT

This amazing restaurant located on the Michamvi Pingwe beach on the south-eastern coast of the island is sometimes called the “floating restaurant”. This is because it stands on a rock partially submerged in the waters of the Indian Ocean near the shore. At low tide you can get to the restaurant by dry foot, but when the water level rises you will need a boat.

The location is the greatest advantage of the restaurant – a small white house with a thatched roof, surrounded by terraces from which you can admire the views of the turquoise waters of the ocean. The Rock Restaurant serves mainly fresh seafood, fish and grilled dishes prepared with local ingredients.

PRISON ISLAND
is a small island located 5.6 km northwest of Stone Town . As the name suggests, the island was supposed to be a place of detention of prisoners, but none of them ever ended up there, despite the fact that a prison complex was built there for that purpose. Instead, Prison Island has become a quarantine facility for patients with yellow fever.

Recently, the island is a government-owned tourist center and is inhabited by giant turtles, which were initially a gift from a British official in the Seychelles, These lovable giants attract tourists the most 😉

SPICE FARM

Zanzibar is a treasure trove of spices that used to be even more valuable than money and were the subject of an exchange of goods. MAKUNDUCHI
is a small village in the south-eastern part of Zanzibar. Few tourists choose it as their travel destination on the island, which is a pity.

In Makunduchi, you can see the typical African scenery that all of us have in mind of Africa – red soil, small clay houses, children playing and women doing laundry, weaving strings or preparing a meal. In addition, women’s daily work is to collect seaweeds from the beach during low tide, drying them and using in the production of cosmetics. It might seem like an easy job, but it’s actually extremely hard work that is not very profitable anyway. The villagers lead a simple and modest life.
