On this day, 18 years ago, a phenomenally skilled surgeon took a scalpel, cut the skin of son Gavin's chest, through his sternum and held his walnut sized heart in his hand and then preformed a life sustaining arterial switch that saved his life and made me a Heart Mom!...Dr. Joseph Dearani, Dr. Allison Cabalka, Vicki, Kelly and the entire Mayo Clinic Team will always be HEROS in my book!❤️💔

Happy Birthday (yesterday) to this HUGE heifer calf! Dave said he thinks this is biggest calf he ever had on our farm! We named this big girl Lucky because she was born on Friday the 13th.

We already have Liberty Freedom so we can’t use those Also this is the start of our baby boom, we have 17 calves due in the next 70ish days, that’s a TON for our small dairy farm, but the fall weather is much better for calving!

On this night...23 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted!

In this country death is a taboo subject and WAY to many people do not allow themselves to talk opening about their pain, sadness and angry surrounding their grief after the loss of a loved one! It’s now been 4 years, 4 years since I was almost killed by a stranger that put a gun to my head! I have PTSD from this & I have learned to open my mind to other events in my life not involving strangers but unfortunately a close family member, which honestly makes it worse! Mental health is important and I’m working through my journey!

Cheers to life, again, but this time it’s mine! Today I was held at GUN point, in broad daylight at 12:30pm right outside my best friends house in St. Paul. I had went out to my car to grab something quick and was approached by a man with a gun. He demanded my purse, money and phone, none of which I had because they were in house. For one 1/4 of a second I thought I might die and I was like NO, NO way is this as***le going to take my life and in that split second I offered him the only item of value I had in my car, my Mayo Clinic work computer, after I convinced him that it was worth $1000s of dollars, he demanded I walk up the street and he ran off the other way. I have coworkers that get upset with me because I always take my work with me on vacation, but today bringing my work with my likely saved my life, as I had absolutely nothing else of offer him, I will be forever grateful I had my work bag today! The police officer told me I was the 4th women that was robbed at gun point by the man fitting the description I gave since 8am today! If you ever find yourself in my situation, just give them whatever they want, nothing is worth your life!!!! Thanks to my best friend for being there for me! And thank you to my Guardian Angels for watching over me!

Happy Birthday bull calf! He’s kind of a sloppy eater! And no the blue face does not indicate his gender it’s just is from a gel (First Defense) we gave him at birth and he slobbed it all over his face while drinking his colostrum!🤪

Happy Birthday to Me and to our 1st ever heifer calf born on my birthday…meet ChaseHers It’s Me Flea….this little lady was born 3 weeks early, although her body size is large, she is lacking fat and muscle tone, so she is by no means out of the woods. She will be getting a lot of extra TCL!

Happy Birthday to 2 bulls calves today….no they are not twins, we just had 2 cows calve on this blazing HOT day! In case you’re wondering the blue is from a gel (First Defense) we give them when they are born, it’s usually not all over their heads!😂

This year is the 100th Anniversary of our county fair! You could buy a bench to honor this amazing milestone, here is ours! And here’s a picture of my son on this exact day taken 12 years apart. You can still get milk for 10 cent a carton, we bought 10!
