Burns at The Singleton 🥃

Join us for on an unmissable Burns Night 2025 event co-hosted by The Singleton and renowned Scots speaker Willie Cameron (Mr Loch Ness).

Toast The Bard and discover three exceptional Singleton drams paired with three traditional Scottish canapes.

🥃 Singleton 12 - An aroma of toasted nuts with rich fruits, with hints of blackcurrant, brown sugar and coffee on the palate – before an elegantly drying and crisp finish.

🥃 Singleton 15 - Aromas of toffee apples with hints of honeycomb balanced by remnants of youthful zestiness. Flavours are sweet to start then drying in the finish with malty and oaty base notes.

🥃 Singleton 18 - A sublimely smooth Singleton with soft, inviting aromas of sweet, stewed fruits (apricot preserve), ripe autumn apples, and rich berry fruits. Expect a dry and sweet taste, gently dominated by nuts, dark toffee, and gentle mint, before the fruits return as rhubarb and apple juice.

Hands up who’s going guisin’ on Thursday?

Traditionally in Scotland children go guising not trick or treating at Halloween and lanterns are carved from turnips not pumpkins. If you’ve ever tried carving a turnip you’ll appreciate that the Scots reputation for being a hardy nation is well-deserved.

Children guising in Scotland had to earn their treats too by singing a song, doing a dance etc. There was none of this turning up at a door and expecting sweeties.

After guising, it would be back home to dook (bob) for apples and monkey nuts.
