The OneLife Chadar Trek 2017 - 9 Nights/10 Days

The word 'Chadar' means blanket and is used to refer to the ice-sheet formed on the frozen Zanskar river in Ladakh. The most amazing thing about the frozen river is that it is also unfrozen in parts!
Spring water prevents the blanket from completely smothering the river which in places retains its rapids; all the more fearsome in temperatures of -15ºC and lower. The trek happens mostly on the ice-sheet but in places the trekkers also have to shuffle between the icy path and rapids of running near-freezing water. All this, makes the Chadar Trek, the most unique trek in the entire Himalayas and one of the most unique experiences on the planet. In short...a must-do for all adventurers!
