📍Stream Palmz - Clarendon

I take it that not many people know of this one.

If you're ever at Murray's Jerk and feel like taking a chill at a river, then you can check this river spot out, since it's pretty close to it.

The river is mostly shallow with like only two deep parts. So that makes it a place where you can take the whole family.

It's a nice vibe.

Welcome to Stony Gut Village. Birthplace, and once home to Paul Bogle.

It's one of those places that hold a lot of historical value, not only to St.Thomas but also Jamaica. Paul Bogle is one of Jamaica's National Heroes ya know.

The surroundings are rather beautiful. It can pass as a park or gardens. A monument is there that tells the story of deacon Paul's journey.

A little of the story goes like this...

Stony Gut, is where the infamous Morant Bay Rebellion began.

Little before that, Paul Bogle and his followers had walked from Stony Gut Village, all the way to Spanish Town to air their grievances against injustice and oppression in St.Thomas.

Not many know the interesting story of Judgement Cliff.

The sink you see in the mountain is Judgement Cliff itself. It is said that used to be the site of a plantation, until an earthquake struck and buried everything and everyone, except a man, his cow, and his dog.

That plaque you see tells some of the story of the cliff as well. It reads:

'THE LANDSLIP ACROSS THE RIVER
FELL IN THE GREAT EARTHQUAKE
OF 1692 BURYING A PLANTATION
AND ALL WHO LIVED ON IT THE
FACE OF THE CLIFF IS 1,000 FEET HIGH
AND THE SLIPPED MASS IS
ESTIMATED TO CONTAIN 86,000,000
CUBIC YARDS.'

The earthquake that struck as said to be the same one or the after effects of the one that destroyed Port Royal.

I hear em referring to this one as 'The Pool' ... It's in Airy Castle, so I guess Airy Castle Pool???🤷🏿‍♂️

Let's work with that as it's unofficial name.

It's nothing too crazy. Just a small body of water where you can take a lil dip in.

There are alot of small fish in there that constantly bite at you skin.

📍Light Hole - Linton Park, St.Ann

Since putting the video of Light Hole, I got some intriguing suggestions as to what made it.

Some say it might have been a collapsed cave system, others say it could have been the result mining many years ago. Whichever the case, it is still a sight to behold.

I'd love to explore inside of it to see what could be found.

Tried to get a few nice shots... I think they came out alright.

I don't know it's official name but Fresh Water, Big River, Cockpit River were the names I was given for this spot.

It's located in Cockpit, Clarendon... That's along Salt River Road.

📍Monymusk Branch Library - Alley, Clarendon 🧮📖🏫

Drove past this interesting looking structure recently and I couldn't resist getting a few snaps of it.

Upon doing some research on it, I discovered that it used to be a sugar mill owned and operated by the Monysmusk Sugar Estate back in the day.

In the early 1900s mills played a very integral part in the sugar production process.

However, that era has long ended, so now the former mill has now become a library for the the community... As well as monument that holds history to it.

📍Peter Tosh Mausoleum- Belmont, Westmoreland.

Here lies the final resting place of the reggae icon, Peter Tosh.

This mausoleum is said to be where Peter Tosh was layed to rest. The land it sits on belongs to his relatives I hear.

It's located in Belmont, Westmoreland.

Separate from this, there is also a Peter Tosh in Kingston?

I was told that this spot is referred to as 📍Twin Sister River ... Atleast that's what they call the river.

This swimming hole was introduced to me by a good while back.

It's at the border of St.Mary and Portland.

As you can see for yourself, the water was so pristine.

📍Unruly River - Sunning Hill, St.Thomas

Popcan is said to have originated from around this side.

This river is said to a spot he frequents. So I guess they felt the need to give the river the Unruly title, for the Unruly Boss himself.

📍Charles Town Maroon Museum

Charles Town house a small museum that contains artifacts and educational information on the heritage of the Charles Town Maroons.

The museum is adjoined to the Asafu Yard, which is pretty hard to miss.

From atop Jamaica's very CENTER. 📍🌲🇯🇲

When I say Jamaica's center, I mean it literally. That monument marks the geographical center of Jamaica.

Located at the peak of the Bull Head Mountains in Northern Clarendon is where you will find it.

The Bull Head Mountains is considered a forest reserve, so great care is put into it to keep it well maintained. I could definitely see the care.

The whole forest is just so scenic.

📍Sanguinetti Falls- Clarendon

Not a bad waterfall. Gave me a bit of a challenge to find it even though Ive been there once before.

This is the Clydesdale National Forest Park. 🌲🌷☘️🍃🌼

It's found in the beautiful hills of St. Andrew, or better yet, in the Blue Mountains.

Long ago, it was once a coffee estate, but now it is marked as a nature reserve. It has a nice river running through it as well.

It's the ideal place for nature lovers and those who are into camping, it's a frequent camping ground at that.

It was great seeing it still being maintained to a level. Certainly a place place you can feel at peace at.

The drive to get there is a little tricky if you don't have the right vehicle for the job, namely something with high clearance, AWD is a plus too

📍Bath Botanical Gardens - Bath, St.Thomas

This is a nice little touch to the quiet community of Bath.

For a place that's been around since the 1700s, it is being kept in great condition. It's very obvious that the community cherishs thier garden.

So lush and green with all it's various collections of plants, some with even medicinal properties. It is such a great place to relax and calm the nerves.

I think this botanical garden is supposed to be the second oldest in the west hemisphere.

A recap of 2024's Charles Town Maroon Festival, Quao Victory Day Celebration. The festival is actually a multi day event. The final day ,which is being featured here, is on June 23 and is dubbed 'Quao Victory Day Celebration.' It's the most important day which holds most of the festivities. The festival is held in later parts of June in Charles Town. Charles Town is one of the four or five, I think, Maroon communities in Jamaica

Just a bit from the 2024 Accompong Maroon Festival. 🍃 This is from their Kindah procession. Kindah means 'One Family'. As one family, they would all gather, and as they gather, they sing, dance, and bond, just as you're now seeing in this clip. It's a nice thing to witness, honestly. Their festival is held every January 6th, this one is the 286th one.
