Day20 April 20 Saturday
We left Perth behind and head north! We pull into Geraldton for lunch, HJ's for us then poke on to Murchison House Homestead. This is where the flies start to get bad! Man they were bad and pesky!!! We camped on the river. But didn't really stay around camp. We went into Kalbarri and drove around the beaches. Checked out Jake's point and the bluff for sunset.
Day 14/15//16/17/18/19 Burns Beach, Perth
We surprised Peters parents by arriving a day earlier than they thought. Wished Iain a very happy birthday too! And then it was sorting out our rigs! Got the rest of the pantry installed, thanks MW for fitting us in. Then tweeking where it all lives... not quite there yet but getting closer!!! Enjoyed time with the family and the sunset!! Devine 😍

Day 7 Sunday Widgemooltha to Burns Beach, Perth
The last push to Perth!
A day of changing landscape and weather. First glimpses of Perth through the trees. Traffic! Traffic lights ! Even road rage?? Welcome to the city ! We scored a night on the beach front. We got to surprise the parents and share birthday celebrations with Grandee!
Day 6 Saturday Bunda Cliffs to Widgiemooltha! The first few photos are drone shots of the sunset the night before we got from our neighbors. The day takes us through the border in WA! Julie does her first shift behind the wheel. Driving the iconic 90 mile straight. She even past a motor home! And then Peter got back behind the wheel and you guessed it! He was finally back in his home state and got the smell of the west in his nostrils and the foot went down and the miles flew by. We had 3 different time changes so we still don't know how many hours we drove but it was a big day and we drove through a storm at sunset . Trying to find a camp with no internet was a challenge as was the red mud. The roadhouse at Widgiemooltha was a godsend. But still no internet....
Day 5 Friday
Penong to Bunda Cliffs
Today was all things Nallabour! We crossed the dingo fence that runs all the way back to Qld. Gotta stop at the Nallabour Roadhouse, bought some water cause someone didn't fill up on water! Must say I'd rather pay for water than fuel there. Only $1 for 40litres, fuel was over $3 a litre. Did you see our lunch burger? Yum! Was $20 but we shared one, it was pretty big and enough! Then onto Bunda cliffs!!! So cool that you can camp so close, well not that close to us! Which we were glad we didn't as our neighbors had a drone and there's not much under the edges😱. The sunset was amazing!! So was the sunrise but you will have to wait for those. 😜

Day 4 Thursday 11 April.
Port Augusta to Penong
Today we said goodbye to the Flinders Ranges and Hello to the Eyre Highway and the Great Australian Bight! We did stop at Kimba, which stands in the middle of Nowhere!! Sorry the middle of Australia!! Then on to Penong, home of the windmills and Lake McDonnell which isn't very pink at the moment. Today is a dust bowl just out of Penong.
Wednesday 10 April
Day 3
Short day today! Less than 3 hours yay! Yunta to Port Augusta, first stop quarantine station. Through the Flinders Ranges, past the wind farms, down to the ocean and into town. Van set up at Discovery Parks Port Augusta, washing done, then into town to drop the car in for her 1st service. We walked around the foreshore and the shops.
April 9 Day 2
Bourke to Yunta
Woke to a fresh morning! Did not think it would get colder and colder as the day went on! The wind was icy. Seen the Indian Pacific roll on through. Plus lots of trains running to and from Broken Hill. The new truck got its first kiss..... yep the turning circle isn't great... corner the the canopy kissed the stone guard.... great little camp at Yunta opposite the pub. Get in early not much space .
April 7/8
We started our journey west! Sunday was from from Brisbane to Toowoomba, here we said our see you soon, to our loved ones.
Monday was a challenging day with rising flood waters and major pot holes. But we got stuck behind a huge piece of machinery which had a pilot vehicle! We knew when traffic was coming, water was on the road, where pot holes were, when animals were close to the road. She was awesome! A Godsend for sure!! Parked up the night in a free camp just the other side of Bourke.

Another year done and dusted. See you all next year.

So another two weeks at work complete now for some time away in the caravan with the family. Might try somewhere between Brissy and Toowoomba.
Short 1 hr layover in Melbourne. Great weather outside but no time to enjoy. Hope the next stop has similar weather.

Bargara coastal path. So many benches, picnic tables, playgrounds, bike racks. Take your time and explore a rock pool, take a dip, stop for a coffee or an ice cream. On bike or foot, go as far as you want, see as much as you can, enjoy this sleepy coastal village.
Bargara to Mon Ropos via foreshore path. Glimpses of the waves and sea. So scenic and peaceful. Enjoyable ride or walk.
Picked up some seafood today!!!! Needed the Ranger to get my catch home!
So today was a monumental day in vanlife!!! We crossed over our first border into NSW!!! Ballina here we are!!! So sitting outside in a nice breeze listening to an Angels cover band that are playing across the lake! So good!!
We love to explore this great country!! So blessed to call it home!!!
Hanging out in an urban jungle is just a little foreign to us!!! This park ticks most boxes , sites are big but getting in is tight as the street is narrow. Has a brand new amenities block. Across the road from beach, walking distance to dining precinct and theme parks are just a drive away!
