Bentley is enjoying another day in Paradise watching the Goodyear blimp provide TV coverage of the PGA tournament at Torrey Pines on CBS, snow cap mountains off to the far right and of course an ice cream truck down below to provide a cool snack on a very warm January day

A friend shared a post about salt that I can't resist sharing myself along with two photos about a picture perfect day in . Sorry for not posting much since closing the tour business. Bentley and I make a weekly visit to Mount Soledad to meet tourists. He loves meeting them as much as I do. Today we spent 3 hours meeting people from LA, Boston, Korea, Italy, Australia and beyond.

East of Borrego Springs in the San Diego desert are these cool slot canyons that people can hike through on their way to the old mines where high-grade calcite used to create artillery and bomb sightings was obtained during WWII. Lisa and I recently explored it with the help of local Sierra Club members.

When seals and sea lions share our shores, we need to give them space, especially mothers with pups.

Ever since the city was required to allow people onto the rocks with the hoping it would shoo them away, the sea lions figured they might as well lie on the soft beach instead of the hard rocks if they have to hang out with the people either way.
