Visitors and friends of Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum will soon notice a new name and logo adorning the longstanding Sanibel institution.

In advance of its early 2024 re-opening and reflecting the significance of aquariums added to the Museum in 2020, the Museum has announced a renaming to Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium. Simultaneously, a new logo and graphic identity will help guide a rebranding of the institution, which is also motivated by a redesign and reinstallation of its permanent exhibit spaces including the Living Gallery of aquariums and marine life and the shell exhibits of The Great Hall of Shells.

Gorgeous ! Bright orange True Tulip …the Tulips live on sand in water less than 100 ft. True Tulips prey on the banded tulips,as well as on pear whelks and other mid sized gastropods. The Tulip shells crawl into shallow waters during the winter to find firm places to attach their clustered egg capsules which look like tiny bouquets .
