His Excellency and his delegation were keen on learning more about Guyana’s priority investment areas showcased in the pavilion at the World Expo.

His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut Bin Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister Of State this evening toured Guyana's Pavilion at Expo2020 Dubai.

Guyana's Commissioner General, Ms Chevon Lim received His Excellency and provided a guided tour of the Pavilion.

The Commissioner-General was accompanied by Guyana's Country Manager, Khalifa Al Falasi, and Deputy Commissioner General, Ms Cristen Ramdolar.

His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut Bin Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan was impressed with the feel of the pavilion as well as the plethora of investment opportunities highlighted, particularly the opportunities for development driven by an energy mix of solar, wind, hydro and natural gas.

Guyana's Pavilion is located in the Opportunity District and is exhibiting under the theme 'Home of Nature, Land of Opportunities'.

Guyana on show at Expo 2020 Dubai for our National Day Celebrations 🇬🇾

His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali arrived in the United Arab Emirates earlier today for tomorrow’s National Day celebrations at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The President, who left Guyana on Saturday morning, was welcomed by a high-level Government delegation in the UAE city.

At tomorrow’s National Day celebration, Guyana’s culture and customs would be on full display at a pavilion dedicated to showcasing the country’s natural beauty and economic opportunities.

First Lady, Her Excellency, Arya Ali; along with Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibilities for Finance, the Honourable Dr Ashni Singh; Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Oneidge Walrond; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, the Honourable Charles Ramson Jr and other officials are also in Dubai.

The worldwide expo was originally scheduled for last year but was postponed to October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

This expo runs from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022. It consists of over 191 country pavilions. The key objective being to inspire each other , share real life solutions & inspire sustainable action .

Guyana’s pavilion features interactive exhibits, live entertainment with some of Guyana’s finest , history, culture, tourism, local products, and much more.

The Kanukus have the highest recorded bat diversity in the world with 89 species. The mountains also represent one of the few areas on the continent where rare Guiana Shield species mix with endangered Amazonian “giants”, including the Giant River Otter, Harpy Eagle, Giant Anteater, Black Caiman and Giant River Turtle.

The National Protected Areas System currently comprises approximately 8.4% of Guyana’s landmass.

Guyana's Commissioner General and Deputy Commissioner General received the keys to Guyana’s Pavilion located on the Expo 2020 site in the Opportunity District. The team will soon commence the outfitting of the Pavilion for the grand opening on October 1.
