If you’re not familiar with The Azores, this nine-island archipelago sits in the middle of the Atlantic, off the coast of Portugal (though it’s worth noting that the westernmost island is actually closer to the US than to Portugal). The islands are low key and inexpensive. No mass market resorts, no big cities, just gorgeous scenery, unique adventures, fabulous food, and a warm and welcoming culture.

My recent trip to Terceira was my second visit to The Azores (I’ve also been to Sao Miguel, Faial and Pico) and it did not disappoint! I explored the inside of a volcano, watched waves crash into rocky pools, slowed down to watch a traffic jam of local cows, ate amazing (cheap!!) meals, and learned about local traditions like their running of the bulls.

If you are looking for a really different European getaway, with a focus on nature and culture - and a quick and easy flight from NY and BOS - let us know!

Just back from a week in the Azores for a conference, and we have so many thoughts to share! These islands are still a bit of an undiscovered gem, and we were so excited to make this repeat visit and see an island (Terceira) that we didn’t make it to last time around. The main town (Angra do Heroísmo) is charming and walkable, with great, inexpensive places to eat and lovely sea views!

Sometimes we do a travel activity simply because we hear there’ll be a doggo. Kayaking to a small island in Australia, truffle hunting in Italy, or sledding in Alaska - all amazing adventures made better by a dog. And we’re not ashamed to admit it😉

✨️ New Client Review! ✨️

“Another amazing trip. The hotel in Milan was perfect for accessing the train to Venice. The Venice Hotel was very nice. The location was perfect. Reggio Emilia was a great town and accommodations were spectacular. The cheese-making, prosciutto, and Ferrari tour and test drive were certainly a highlight. The tour guide was great and lunches were at authentic farmhouse-type atmospheres creating a great experience and amazing food.

Lake Como was beautiful. The hotel was very nice and located right on the water in the town center. Ferry to other towns was easy. Private Boat rental is a must-do. It was beautiful. We took the funicular to the top of Como and walked the trail at sunset, amazing. Bellagio was beautiful, kinda wish we stayed there.

-Richard”

Thank you so much, Richard! We are so glad that you loved the trip, It was such a pleasure planning your family adventure to Italy.🙂

The Bernina Express is one of the most magical train rides in Switzerland! It is a 4 hr scenic train ride between Tirano, Italy and Chur, Switzerland.

It takes you through the Engadine Valley and up to the higher elevations, where there can be tons of snow. The train has panoramic windows and comfortable seats - perfect for enjoying the incredible scenery.

You’ll see varied scenery in just a few hours: from green valleys to high mountain passes. Its a perfect full-day trip from Lake Como if you have a local driver to bring you back from Switzerland at the end of the day. Or the best way to go from the snowy mountains of Switzerland to the lakes and rolling hills of Italy.

✨️ New Client Review! ✨️

“We loved Bermuda! What a beautiful island! Cambridge Beaches was lovely. Beautiful beaches, friendly staff, and amazing food. We really enjoyed our stay. We left the resort one day and went to the Naval Dockyard and booked a boat tour of the island - that was a lot of fun. Otherwise, we stayed at Cambridge. They have a tiny beach called Turtle Cove that was off the beaten path - we basically had a private beach all week!

It was an expensive 4 nights away, but the service, food, and beauty of the island made it all worthwhile. Would love to go back! Until our next journey!

-Amanda and Kevin”

We loved helping plan this adventure to Bermuda! Thank you for the great feedback.

Cash is usually king in most places, but if you need to pay with a card you should always check with your taxi driver first before all your bags are loaded into the car. That way you avoid any awkward misunderstandings.

So much better than a selfie!

If your travel photos are anything like ours, your camera roll is full of selfies, food pics, and sunset shots. But do you ever come back with any truly great photos of yourself in your favorite destinations? Probably not.

That's where a service like comes in.

For her recent trip to Italy and Greece, Ann stepped outside of her comfort zone and stepped in front of the camera for a photo shoot in Rome's Trastevere neighborhood. The local photographer, Marcos, met Ann and Everett early on a Sunday morning while the light was perfect and the streets were still empty and grabbed some great images of the two of them exploring Rome. As a special bonus, he also snapped some new headshots for Ann.

It was fun, easy, and quick. And surprisingly inexpensive. Let us know if you want to build a photo shoot into your next trip!

I get lots of clients saying they don’t “need” a luxury cruise experience. They’re perfectly happy with a big mass market cruise line, because that’s what they are used to. And because they don’t necessarily know what they {could} have on a luxury ship.

So here you go:

You wake up to a room service breakfast served in your suite on nice linens and china, and your butler asks you about your plans for the day, and whether you’d like him to deliver some canapés this afternoon before dinner.

You send him off with a bag of laundry that will come back that evening beautifully pressed and wrapped up like a gift.

You wander up to the pool deck and grab your favorite deck chair - no worries about them all being “saved” by other people, because there’s always plenty of space.

The wind kicks up and it gets a little bit chilly on the top deck, but the pool staff is already coming around with blankets for those who want them.

You’re not quite sure about a big lunch after your late breakfast, so you swing by the coffee cafe for a latte and some fruit, and then head back to the cabin to answer some emails - and discover that your butler has re-stocked the fridge with Diet Coke and Chardonnay (per your preference sheet) and has left you some chips and nuts to snack on in case you get peckish.

You while away the afternoon with some pickleball, a trivia contest, and a cooking demo, and then it’s time to shower and dress for cocktails and dinner, and perhaps a show.

All included. So relaxing and easy. No worries about crowds, lines, up-charges or hassles. This is absolutely addicting ;)
