DISNEY WISH SERIES- Final Part ✨✨✨

After disembarking the cruise ship at 8:30am and letting out some tears 😭,we boarded a bus 🚌 that took us from the port to the airport ✈️However, we arrived at the airport by 9:30am and our flight home wasn’t until 7pm later that night! So, instead of waiting around the airport the whole day, we got a day pass with the Hyatt Regency hotel inside of the airport.

Included in the day pass is a full hotel room from 10am-6pm, as well as access to their gym 🏋️‍♀️and pool. A really great option if you find yourself in a situation like us! We were able to catch up on some sleep, eat in the airport and check out some of the shops.

Now here are some questions about our trip that I’d like to answer...

⚓️Do you have to stay on Disney property before going to the cruise ship?
- No, while staying on Disney property is a nice way to get in the Disney mood before vacation, there are other options you can choose. You can stay at the Hyatt Regency airport hotel, and there are other tranportation options that can take you to hotels near the port as well.

⚓️How many other ships does Disney have in their fleet?
- Right now Disney has 5 ships.. Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy and Wish. Plus stay tuned for their newest ship coming in 2024, the Treasure.

⚓️Does Cataway Cay offer excursions?
- Yes! They offer a handful of excursions that include parasailing, boat outings, and stingray adventures. However Castaway Cay is a great place to relax as well.

DISNEY WISH VACATION SERIES: Part 6- Castaway Cay✨✨✨Questions about the Disney Wish? Leave it in the comments below and I’ll answer it on my final post of the series!

For our final day on the cruise, we were able to sleep in and then catch breakfast 🥞🧇🍳at Marceline Market before getting off the ship in the beautiful Castaway Cay (pronounced like “key”🗝️)Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island. If you take a Carribean cruise with Disney, you’re likely to see this stop on the itinerary.

For this stop, we decided to focus more on the adult only offerings. As we walked along the path, we were created by some beautiful views as well as Mickey Mouse himself! We did a little shopping 🛍️(bought merch you can only find on the island) and headed to the tram. The tram took us to the far side of the island where you can visit Serenity Bay, the adult only beach. 🏖️☀️🏝️With that being said we grabbed an “adult” drink 🍹and enjoyed the view. The weather was a nice 78 degrees! Not too bad for January!

Once we soaked up too much sun ☀️,we grabbed lunch at the BBQ buffet in Serenity Bay. Its great that they offer lunch on the island so you don’t need to walk all the way back to the ship. There’s two BBQ buffet spots on Castaway Cay, one in the family beach area and one in Serenity Bay. The perk of eating at the Serenity Bay buffet is that they offer more “adult” type cuisine including ribs, fish and steak 🍤🐟🥩in addition to hamburgers 🍔and hot dogs 🌭. It was also neat to see Caribbean fruits (like papaya and mango)offered in the buffet as well as classics like potato salad and cookies! 🍪Of course it wouldn’t be complete without all-you can eat ice cream soft serve! 🍦

After lunch we made our way back to the ship to check out the infinity pool 🏊‍♀️in the adult only section of the ship. Because most people were on the island, it wasn’t crowded and we were able to hang out by the pool for a bit.

As the day was coming to a close, we headed to dinner which was the Arendelle Dinner Show. We had a pretty good view from our table and we’re able to sing along to some of our favorite Frozen songs as well as interact with some characters such as Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf ☃️and Oaken! ❄️❄️❄️

Our final show that evening was Aladdin and let me just say, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen! I think my favorite show on the ship. The acting was amazing, and the Genie stole the show. 🧞‍♂️So funny and talented. The special effects were amazing as well. Highly recommend seeing this!

We headed back to our room and saw one more cute oragami blanket and called it a night!

DISNEY WISH VACATION SERIES: Part 5- Marvel Dinner and Pirate Night ✨✨✨

In the afternoon we went and checked out Joyful Sweets 😊, which turned out to be a gelato and sweet shop. Very cute and lots of fun sweet options! Once gelato 🍨was secured we made our way to bingo! Anyone could play bingo here, however anyone under 18 needed to be accompanied with an adult to play. To my surprise I won bingo 🥳 and got a nice chunk of change added to my on-board account. 💰

After bingo it was time to get ready for our Marvel themed dinner rotation. This dinner focused on Ant-Man 🐜and his Quantum Core. You could even order a non-alcoholic drink that came in a Quantum Core that you can take home! Even Ant-Man himself came by to say hi. Food was really good and my dad was even able to get his hands a Mickey bar.

Once dinner wrapped up, it was officially Pirate Night! 🏴‍☠️You can dress up as much as you want. I decided to go with a cute little hat as part of the celebration. The show that night was The Little Mermaid. ⚓️I wasn't able to take pictures or film anything during the show, but it was SO GOOD! Such amazing, talented people. After the show, I was able to get my picture with pirate Goofy and Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. Towards the end of the night they even put on a Rockin 🎸Pirate Show and fireworks! That show was also AMAZING!

To end the night we found a origami octopus with gold coins waiting for us in our room! 🐙

DISNEY WISH VACATION SERIES: Part 4- Characters and Palo ✨✨✨Check out parts 1-3 if you haven't already!

Day 2 started off with a trip to Marceline Market, the buffet on the Disney Wish. Here I was able to check out some of their breakfast offerings 🥞and see some awesome views. Our ship was heading to Nassau, Bahamas! After breakfast! I had a mission; check out character meet and greets.✍️ I had signed up for a Royal Gathering photo op, where you could meet some princesses all at one time. 👑 I got to meet Rapunzel, Belle, Moana and Cinderella. I was also lucky enough to see Captain Minnie and say hello. 😍

After seeing the princesses, I still had a little time before our reservation at Palo, and saw that there were meet and greets for some Superheroes. So I was able to snag a picture with Spiderman 🕷, and get the rare meet and greet of Ant-Man. 🐜

Following my meet and greets, it was time for our reservation at Palo, a specialty dining experience. We had a 10:45 reservation for brunch and it was amazing. I've heard good things about Palo and it really lived up to the hype. Palo was Beauty and the Beast themed, and had a bar area called The Rose.🌹Absolutely beautiful! This adult only dining experience included excellent service, a mimosa and multiple brunch selections. 10/10 would recommend!

Later in the afternoon, after watching the ship dock in the Bahamas, we decided to check out Hyperspace Lounge, a Star Wars themed lounge. The bar had so many little easter eggs, and also featured a magical window behind the bar. Every 7 minutes "our ship" would jump to light speed and we'd end up near a new planet. Even the drinks were "out of this world"! 👩‍🚀🪐⭐️

DISNEY WISH VACATION SERIES: Part 3- Our Room and First Night on the Ship ✨✨✨ Check out Parts 1 and 2!

After eating lunch at Festival of Foods, our room was ready! So we took the elevator down to deck 8 and found our room 8614. Conveniently right near the elevators! Our room was absolutely beautiful! 🥲It was a verandah room (which means you have a balcony) and was themed around Princess and the Frog. 👑🐸We had plenty of room to put our luggage and clothes. The split bathroom also worked out well for our family. One part of the bathroom had the toilet and sink, while the other had the shower and a sink. We even found some little cupcakes that I ordered as a gift for my family :) 🧁🧁

Once we unpacked and took care of our muster drill, it was time for the sail away party on the pool deck. What a cute way to start our journey.👋 On our way to dinner, I ran into the charming Donald Duck🥰 and waited to get seated at our first dinner rotation restaurant 1923.

1923 gave off a very sophisticated atmosphere 🏆and around the restaurant were different concept drawings and props for different Disney movies. Here we met our waitstaff (who were amazing) and chose a appetizer, entrée and dessert. All of the food was really tasty!

After our dinner, it was time to see our nighttime show "Seas the Adventure!" in the Walt Disney Theatre. Unfortunately, we were unable to take pictures or record the shows, but that was for a good reason. This show was so cute! It featured Captain Minnie and Goofy who gets himself into trouble and finds himself in different Disney movies.

Before heading to bed, we decided to stop and test our Trivia knowledge📝 at The Bayou lounge. The Bayou lounge is based off of Princess and the Frog👑🐸and features Magnolia flowers above your head! 🌸We even opted to get a Louisiana classic drink The Hurricane! ⛈🍹And no, I didn't win... 😭Once I soaked up all of my tears we headed back to our room and concluded our night with a greeting from an origami crab blanket! 🦀What an awesome day!

DISNEY WISH VACATION SERIES: Part 2- Riverside Resort and Embarkation
✨Make sure to check out Part 1: Arriving At Disney World, before reading this post.✨

After arriving back from shopping at Disney Springs, our room was ready! Our room was located in the Parterre Place area of the resort which are the white column mansion buildings. 🕌We were staying in the Royal Suite Room which is only offered at Port Orleans-Riverside Resort. The room was filled with everything princess!👑 Gold trim, enchanting backdrops, and even a magic lamp faucet! This area was only a short walk to the lobby and food areas, so it was a great and convenient location. We've officially added Riverside Resort in our top favorite Disney resorts. Welcome to the club! 🥳

The next morning was embarkation day. Because we were staying on Disney property, we purchased a Disney Cruise Line shuttle from our resort to the port. 🚌➡️🚢Everything was made so easy! Our luggage was picked up from our room at Riverside that morning and delivered straight on the ship for us.🛍 After about an hour drive from Orlando to Port Canaveral we arrived at the cruise terminal and waited to board.

As we walked into the lobby of the ship, the announcer said into his microphone "The Disney Wish welcomes The Sanfilippo Family!" Talk about a grand entrance. As we walked around the beautiful lobby in awe, we were greeted with a gold statue of Cinderella, as well as...hunger. 🍽

We followed our noses up to Deck 11 where we found the pool deck. Here on the pool deck is Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods. Here is a variety of different cuisine stations such as Mexican, pizza, burgers, BBQ and ice-cream! 🌮🍕🍔🍗🍦After relaxing, eating and looking out at the Florida coast, our room was ready and we couldn't wait to start exploring the rest of the ship!

DISNEY WISH VACATION SERIES: Part 1- Arriving At Disney World ✨✨✨

What a fun and exciting trip we experienced with the new Disney Wish Ship as part of Disney Cruise Lines. ⚓️We did a 3-Night cruise leaving from Port Canaveral, FL and making stops in Nassau, Bahamas and Disney's private island; Castaway Cay! There was so much to do and I have a lot to share, so I'm making this a series! Feel free to follow along 😀

After leaving Wisconsin from a slightly delayed flight ✈️(they had to de-ice the plane❄️) we finally arrived in warm and sunny Orlando, FL! ☀️ We boarded our Sunshine Flyer Shuttle and were off to Disney World property. We decided to fly in a day before our cruise in case there were some delays, and decided to spend a night with some Disney magic. 🏰

Our family tries to stay at a new resort every time we go to Disney World. This time we decided to stay at Port Orleans-Riverside. What a beautiful resort! It's white column mansions, cottages and steamboat antiques really give this a rural Louisiana feel. Once we checked into the hotel, our room wasn't ready, so we decided to take a trip to Disney Springs on a boat down the Sassagoula River from our resort.🛥

After arriving to Disney Springs, we got some lunch at the delicious D-Luxe Burger 🍔and explored some of our favorite shops. We even got to visit Gideon's Bakehouse to try some of their famous and delicious cookies!🍪With full bellies and hands full of souvenirs 🛍, we were back on the Sassagoula river heading back to Port Orleans-Riverside to check out our room!

✨TRAVEL AGENT TRUTH FOR 2023!✨
Well, here we are, sliding quickly into 2023! 🥳 And since becoming a travel agent, I have learned a lot and want to share some money saving ideas with you!

🧳Vacation destinations are willing to offer more discounts further out than before, as they want to fill their rooms early! This is to YOUR benefit! (Beaches Resorts, Sandals Resorts, Cruises especially)
🧳So, people are booking further out than ever before to capture better availability and better pricing. Pricing creeps up as time goes on. Most land packages will offer a refundable deposit so changing dates later is usually easy. (Disney, Universal, Beaches, Sandals, Sea World, and more!)
🧳Last minute bookings are harder and harder to make and are more expensive - but I help with them often. Don't hesitate if you want to go.
🧳There are occasional last minute rates (military, GTY on cruises, etc) and these are designed to just finish up selling inventory on cruise ships. But, you won't find the best rooms for the best price on the best ships as things will be picked over. Be flexible.
🧳Military rates at Disney and Universal are better booked FAR out, so book NOW for 2023! In fact, Universal's military offer is like an annual pass, so it is good for the entire year (some blackout). Smart to start that as early in 2023 to get the most usage!
🧳If you don't have your Spring Break or Summer vacation booked yet, I would advise that you make plans with me this week! It is going to be booked solid by the second week of January!
🧳WAVE SEASON (overload of clients all at once) is almost here, which means by mid-January, I will be "in-the-weeds" with clients booking their trips for 2023 and 2024. Usually I will do 2/3 of my entire year's business between Jan-March. I LOVE IT!
🧳If you book your Disney / Universal trip early, you will then qualify for my discount monitoring. Meaning, if a better applicable promotion comes out, then I will automatically apply it and save you money.
🧳Generally, "waiting for deals" does not necessarily result in saved money, as often the price goes up before a discount is applied. Booking early and then checking the future deals is the best way to save.
I hope that helps! The way we book trips now has changed a lot in the last 10 years. My biggest piece of advice - Book your trip early to save the most amount of money and use a travel agent that automatically will check for deals - ME!
