Trunks & Tracks A Boston-based boutique safari company run by two safari guides. We build and guide tailor-made safaris across nine different African countries.

Jomi and Hadley grew up traveling around the world with their families and fell under Africa's spell at a young age. After finishing University, they both moved to South Africa to pursue a safari guiding career. The pair met while guiding in South Africa in 2015 and have been guiding and working throughout Africa since.

They have spent time working in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Namibia

. Currently, they are based in Namibia from where they lead expeditions all over Southern Africa.

In their time living in Africa they've visited some of the most stunning wilderness areas including the Kruger National Park, South Luangwa National Park, the Okavengo Delta, Etosha National Park, the Serengeti National Park, Maasai Mara National Reserve and more. They've built up an in-depth understanding of the areas and what makes a safari great. They plan and privately guide trips so as to share that understanding with others. If you’re interested in joining them on a safari or having them organize an itinerary or trip for you feel free to reach out to them via email. Follow their adventures around Africa and the world here!

On the banks of the Sand River in South Africa’s famed Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Londolozi Founders Camp boasts a prime location in an area known for its exceptional game viewing (and leopard viewing in particular). But the game viewing isn’t all there is to do…

Between game drives and bush walks, enjoy a revitalizing yoga session beneath the shade of a 500-year-old ebony tree, work up an appetite for your next delicious meal at the gym, or relax by the pool whilst the kids get creative with fun activities at the Cubs Den.

Londolozi Founders Camp offers a peaceful retreat for families and nature lovers alike 🍃 🐘 🐾

Located in the heart of Cape Town, Cape Cadogan is a charming Victorian-style boutique hotel that tastefully blends chic interiors, historical elegance, and creature-comfort luxury. Fully refurbished in 2022, the hotel features luxurious rooms, a great in-house restaurant, as well as spa, pool, and a gym right in the heart of the city (did we mention it’s within walking distance of many of our favorite restaurants and cafes in the city?).

During this time of uncertainty for many, we believe that connecting with nature and other people can remind us of how much good there is in the world. Travel opens our eyes and minds to new experiences, perspectives, and wild places. It allows us to see the world in a ways perhaps previously unconsidered.

We are currently in South Africa. Yesterday, we hiked in the mountains and wandered barefoot through wildflower gardens. We connected with people that live in the area, learned about their lives, about their grievances, about their joys—remarkably similar to ours despite living on opposite sides of the earth. They too work long hours, are annoyed by traffic on their commute, have frustrations with how their government is running. And they too find joy in meeting new people and learning their perspectives. They too love greeting the pigs on the farm each morning. They too love working out on their days off (a commonality shared with Jomi, not Hadley 😉).

At Trunks & Tracks, we strive to facilitate travel that fosters opportunities to connect with new people and perspectives, to broaden horizons, and to fall back in love with the earth and its wild places. It is our hope that our guests return from their travels humbled, grateful, grounded and inspired by the balance observed in nature. With a changed perspective, a sense of purpose, and a calling to conserve and grow the earths wild areas. To leave the earth a more wild and wonderful place than they found it.

Our Story

Jomi and Hadley grew up traveling around the world with their families and fell under Africa's spell at a young age. Jomi, who is German by birth but grew up in Dublin, graduated with honors from Trinity College in Ireland and Hadley, who grew up in Boston, graduated magna cm laude with honors from the University of Richmond in the U.S. Unable to get rid of the urge to return to Africa, both respectively moved to South Africa to pursue a guiding career after graduating. After completing their guiding training on year long courses, the pair met while guiding in South Africa in 2015.

Since then, they spent time guiding and managing lodges in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Namibia. For the last two years, the pair managed the prestigious Bisate Lodge in Rwanda. They are currently based out of Boston and return to Africa regularly throughout the year.

They've acquired an in-depth understanding of the areas and what makes a safari unforgettable. They plan and privately guide trips so as to share their passion for wildlife and conservation with others. If you’re interested in joining them on a safari or having them organize an itinerary for you feel free to reach out to them via their contact page.
