Brave Run 2023: Running is more fun with friends! Even when it’s HOT!!
Fellow 8th Wonder Travel Co. Agent 8th Wonder Travel Co. - Melissa Henry and I braved the heat to run the Brave run 2023 in support of the Blakelyn Foundation.
Such a great event for an important foundation; one that is very near to my ❤️ as our own Hailey Mae would have been 17 this year.
Training for the Run Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend should feel nice and cool after this weekend! Lol
Saturday Run day! Today, I set out with the goal to be a little better than last week. A few week’s ago, I set my watch my to include 30 90/30 intervals. So far, I’ve consistently hit 20-22 of the 30. Today, I decided that my focus was just going to do one better than last week. At the 3 mile marker, I iust wanted to stop intervals and walk; I was HOT, the sun was sunny, and I had already run 3 miles. And then, two things happened:1. This song came on Pandora2. A soft breeze started (woo-woo moment?-IFKYK)All of this caused a simple mind-shift change and I decided i could do “one more” 90 second interval. And I kept “one moreing” untl I hit 30. I often think the mental games are actually harder than the physical excercise. My body was fine, my brain was not!I’m feeling proud of myself even if post-run was a bit miserable 🤪. Tommorow’s run will be before the sun comes up! And my focus will be on being just a little better than today. 😘

Here are a few tips that I do to increase my daily movement:
*Park toward the end of the parking lot
*Make sure I talk a walk around the house (inside or out) at least once an hour
*Take a walk around the block between tasks
*Stand up and walk during commercial breaks (if you are watching TV)
*Stand up and walk at the conclusion of each chapter (when I am reading)
*Take an intentional walk for at least 20-40 minutes daily (2 miles a day is my goal on non-running days)
