Tbilisi Pop-Up: And finally the good-bye day -- but not many tears. We know we'll see each other again. Gondola ride, Palace balcony, Mother of Georgia monument, and hugs in the park. Hope to see you soon, dear friends!

Tbilisi Pop-Up: Last day already! First of all - we completely changed the itinerary and started with noon coffee instead of all the cultural options 😂 Followed by the Queen Darejan Palace and Metekhi Virgin Mary Assumption Church. Fantastic views -- with more to follow after we took the gondola...

Tbilisi Pop-Up: We visited an Ethnography Museum today -- it had a number of buildings (houses and trades buildings) that are native to Georgia so we could see differences in construction and purposes. Just fascinating! Always grateful when we find guides and signage in English as we travel. It didn't use to be that way and it truly enhances the travel experience when we can learn as we explore.

Tbilisi Pop-Up: Hanging out with the buddies! By Day #6, the new families have found their way into the friend circles and the friendships previously formed have been strengthened. So happy for the teens to find a social circle who truly understand them and value them as peers. This is the best part of the popups!!

Tbilisi Pop-Up: Hung out at a few parks today -- one with a well known graffiti tunnel. There is some really beautiful themed art there including recognizable animated characters, iconic places to travel, rock stars, and local celebrities.

PS there is one "puzzle" with the dad picture in this post. IYKYK!

Tbilisi Pop-Up: A day hanging around town and some pics of everyday happenings in Tbilisi: the street animals here are very well behaved and healthy (not always the case around the world).

Tbilisi Pop-Up: The Georgian National Museum... excellent exhibits on early hominids, flora & fauna of the world, ancient treasures found in graves, and some of the tragic history of Georgia and this region.

Tbilisi Pop-Up: Semi-rainy day for the Tbilisi crew -- luckily we were in a museum when the big rain hit! But instead of hanging out in the soggy parks for the afternoon the group pivoted and went to a board game cafe instead :D

London Pop-Up: The popup crew got to explore the Bank of England Museum (and I think they got to touch a gold bar, but don't hold me to that) and afterwards went to Tower of London to learn more about the history of England and see the crown jewels :O

Tbilisi Pop-Up: Yes, we were invited to Come Fart in the underground graffiti tunnel (no guarantees it didn't happen). We've packed our days with walking around town, seeing the sites, checking out all the parks, perhaps stopping for gelato more than once, perhaps stopping for coffee or wine more than once -- but always enjoying our time with each other to the max!! So glad to find each other for the first time or the tenth time! Your families make our travels richer

Tbilisi Pop-Up: The Trinity Church -- built from 1995 - 2004 overlooking Tbilisi city and river. What a beauty of a building!

Also a bit of a hot day -- hoping tomorrow is the last of our warm weather streak. We were quite happy to rest in the shade and visit with a local kitty while the crew ordered iced lattes :D

Tbilisi Pop-Up: Mtatsminda Park -- we took the funicular up the hill (well some of us... the 2nd group found out the funicular wasn't working so we got cars). Kids had fun with the rides and games. Some adults split off to chat at a cafe... then we all took the funicular down. Great first day!

London Pop-Up: Princess Diana Memorial Playground & The Science Museum!

The kids loved Diana playground so much they returned after the science museum trip 😆 It rained a little, so they caught a bus (but not red double decker yet!) where all the kids lined the back of the bus trying to get a wave from pedestrians and vehicles behind😊

Baku Pop-Up: An unexpected stop at the Chamber and Organ Music Hall of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic. We bumped in a gated courtyard where families were playing but the hall was closed. A kind woman went and got the caretaker to open the organ hall for our group to see -- he even encouraged us to sing/make noise to listen to the acoustics. Such a treat! No shared language -- just speaking our own languages to each other and using lots of gestures and facial expressions

Baku Pop-Up: A fascinating stop at the Azerbaijan History Museum -- everything from prehistoric artifacts to modern times. The collection highlights the skills & trades developed in this area (metal work, weaponry, first oil tanker, carpets, printing, arts, textiles, etc), the conglomeration of religions in the area, as well as the turbulent history complete with genocide incidents. After touring the museum, we entered the former palace :O

The group pic is outside the national library, where we were not allowed to visit due to having children with us.
