Final Thoughts on Disney Wish:
My family had a wonderful experience. Does my husband love Disney like my son and I? No. BUT, he loved the Disney cruise!! With everything being elevated, from our room to our dining experiences, we definitely feel we got what we paid for. Actually, when I break down pricing, we don’t feel like we overpaid for our Disney Cruise.
You can do as much “Disney” as you want, or have it not be so in your face. If you want to meet characters you can, or you can walk right past them to get to what you do want to do.
My son really enjoyed the Tween club. Chess, video games, fun challenges, and snacks. He usually forgoes the kid clubs but had a great time and wanted to go to this one. They break down the kid clubs into different ages, but also have a recreation area for all ages. This includes sports courts, air hockey, foosball, and the Hero Zone.
The adult areas are so nice! The infinity pool on the back of the ship was so relaxing. Having certain lounges and places that did not allow children was nice for those that were taking a break from Mom and Dad duties, 18 and older guests and those traveling without children.
Here are my could be improved thoughts:
The muster station drill. Disney has everyone on the ship do this at the same time. This is right before the sail away party on the main deck. Once the muster drill was over… all 4,000 people on board and using the elevators and stairs trying to get to the same place. Other brands have you visit your muster station at your own pace prior to the sail away party and there isn’t a mad dash to the main deck.
Character greets in the dining rooms. It isn’t really a greet. No time for photos(they are so fast, your pictures will be blurry). Unlike Disney Character Dining at the resorts/parks where you get a few minutes to hug and take pictures. I know you can wait in lines throughout the day to get pictures on board, it just caught me off guard on how fast the fist bump or wave went in the dining rooms.
The chairs on the balconies are just for sitting, where other cruise lines provide more relaxing options. (My husband’s input)
Will we cruise Disney again? Absolutely! Will we cruise other cruise lines? Absolutely! Disney is SO GOOD and worth every penny!
Let me know if I can help you book your next cruise! Remember, it does not cost you extra to use a travel agent and I am here to help you every step of the way, from which ship is best for you, to what to pack, and how to navigate travel while on and off the ship.
