Kaiunbashi bridge / Good fortune bridge.

It is said that
“If you cross this bridge, you will feel good luck coming to you !”

Located in the Iwate Prefecture of Japan, the bridge across the akita Kani river links the central city of Morioka to the Morioka Station.

Kaiunbashi Bridge displays varying aspects depending on the season and the time of the day, also with blooming flower beds near the shores, night-time illuminations, and occasional fireworks. On a clear day one can also view the beautiful Mt. Iwate (2,000m).

In the recent times, there has been more of staying at home and less of physical activity. This gives us a chance to think and start working on something new. How about a game of tennis ?

Well, I am still learning tennis, but would love to keep going.

Just invested in this Racquet and the set of balls, and of course time.

This is the place in Japan where the atom bomb was dropped during the World War 2. Have a look at how it looks now.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park (平和記念公園, Heiwa Kinen Kōen), Japan is build in a large area of around of over 120,000 square meters.
This was the commercial and political heart of the Hiroshima city during the WW2 period & before. This is the epicenter of the Atom Bomb drop during the World War 2.
Post the Atomic bomb drop on August 1945, this place was developed as a peace memorial facility.

Today, this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a tangible link to Hiroshima’s (Japan’s) past.

Enjoy this short tour of the area. A detailed / full length tour will com up soon. Subscribe and stay connected.

On the , let us learn about the “sea day” - A unique day celebrated in Japan.

Every year, July 20th is known as the “Ocean Day” or “Sea Day” or “Marine Day” or “Umi no Hi” 海の日。
This day is observed as a national holiday in Japan. This day is meant to celebrate the wonders of the ocean and its importance in the Japanese culture.
This day is also a reminder of the awareness of the neccesity of the preservation of the oceans from the effects of pollution and climate change.
Japan is an archipelago & hence its identity, culture and thus economy is strongly connected to the sea.

This day also marks the end of tsuyu 梅雨 or the rainy season & is the first national holiday of summer.

Hence, it is celebrated by everyone amongst families and friends. Some take a day trip to the beach, enjoy fireworks 💥 display by the sea and indulge in delicious sea food.
