Day 4 (Part 3): We drove to Page, AZ, home to Lake Powell and the breathtaking Antelope Canyon. This time we did the Lower Canyon and it may be my favorite of the sections I’ve visited The curves, ladders and narrow spaces made it so fun to navigate so my 6 year old loved it too. The tours can be crowded but the views are absolutely worth it! We then settled into our campsite overlooking Lake Powell. Another amazing day!

Day 4 (Part 2): We spent the morning inside the tribal park, driving the scenic loop on our own. No RVs of any kind are allowed so you either need to rent a Jeep like we did or take one of the many tours available. Such gorgeous views!

Day 3 (Part 2): The 3-hour drive from Moab to Monument Valley has several amazing stopping points, including one of the largest walls of petroglyphs in the country at Newspaper Rock State Historic Site, the double horseshoe bends at Goosenecks State Park and Forrest Gump Point - and more! This is a remote section of the country and a great reminder that RV travel takes you to places you may never otherwise see!

Day 3 (Part 1): Because we camped at Dead Horse Point, we were able to enjoy the lookout point all to ourselves! Does anyone else feel like this is a mini Grand Canyon?! We then made one last stop in Moab for the most delicious of doughnuts

Day 2 (Part 2): After a post-hike feast in Moab, we drove out to Canyonlands National Park and took in the beautiful views along the Scenic Drive. Practically next door is the lesser known Dead Horse Point State Park with equally impressive views but fewer crowds. We set up camp here in this remote and stunning park. This is our secret to experiencing these areas with less crowds!

Day 2 (Part 1): Arches, arches and more arches! We spent the first half of the day finding as many arches in the park as we could, including Delicate Arch, the Windows, and Double Arch. We hiked over 7 miles! A highlight of the trip, for sure.

Day 1: We drove from Salt Lake City to Moab! After grabbing dinner in town, we headed into Arches National Park and hit up a few viewpoints before making our way to our campground for the night. Devils Garden is the only campground inside the park and it’s one of my favorites! It’s remote (picture outstanding stargazing), clean, sites are well-spaced and its surrounding by rocks to climb on! We even had a view of one of the park’s many arches from the top.

ICYMI I took my family out to Yellowstone and Grand Teton a few weeks ago. We rented the dreamiest 25’ Winnebago View from in Bozeman and spent 8 days traveling around the area. It was our favorite family trip we’ve ever taken!
We hiked to stunning waterfalls and lakes, watched Old Faithful and Beehive geysers erupt at the same time (and got sprayed!), got caught in a bison traffic jam, played lots of board games, made s’mores and a camp fire every night, and spent so much quality time together.

We spent last week in Mammoth Lakes, CA and it did not disappoint! This is one of our favorite places to camp with kids - the campgrounds are right next to the lakes, there is an amazing bike path AND a free bus/trolley system connecting all the lakes and the town of Mammoth, and there is so much to do here - abundant waterfalls, a variety of hikes, and kid-friendly lake rentals!
Mammoth can be its own destination, either out of Reno or San Francisco, or it combines well with nearby Lake Tahoe and/or Yosemite!

The Carpenters just completed a whirlwind trip to the Pacific Northwest, visiting Olympic National Park, the Oregon coast, Bend, Columbia River Gorge, and Mt Rainier National Park! They packed a lot in but this is an adventurous family who is up for it all!
