Philippine Airlines suspends domestic flights to and from Manila

Philippine Airlines has cancelled all scheduled domestic flights to and from Manila until August 18.
The move comes after the Philippines re-entered lockdown after doctors warned a surge in coronavirus cases could could push the country’s healthcare system to collapse, according to the BBC. Stay-at-home orders are now in place in Manila, added the BBC report.
Domestic flights between Clark, Cebu, Davao and cities other than Manila are not affected and will remain operational, says the airline.
The airline says it will also continue to operate international flights to and from Manila “subject to further guidelines from the authorities in line with quarantine capacity and related arrangements”.
Passengers who were booked on the canceled domestic flights will be given the option to rebook, refund or convert their ticket into a travel voucher, according to Philippine Airlines.

From the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP)

List of airports with LGU clearance to resume commercial flights as of August 3, 2020:

As of today, August 3, there are 32 airports in the country whose Local Government Units (LGUs) have issued orders categorically supporting the resumption of commercial airport operations in their areas of jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, the domestic flights will not be allowed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) due to the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ). International flights will still be allowed subject to restrictions.

Some airports, while allowing the resumption of commercial flights, are subject to different documentary and passenger LGU restrictions.

As of today, August 1, 2020, the following international destinations require all passengers coming from the Philippines to present a COVID-19 RT-PCR Negative-Test Result/Certification issued by government recognized accredited testing institutions before they are allowed to board flights:

TAIWAN

All affected passengers are strongly advised to get in touch with their respective air carriers to get the details on the implementation of the new regulation. Passengers are also urged to check the official government website of other countries not mentioned for their guidelines on inbound passengers.

Passengers without the required negative RT-PCR test result/certification may not be allowed to check-in for their flights.

Cebu Pacific mounts more international flights starting Aug. 1

Beginning August 1, CEBU Pacific will be flying twice weekly from Tokyo (Narita) to Manila (Wednesday and Saturday). On August 6, CEB will be flying two times weekly (Thursday and Saturday) between Manila and Singapore; and every Thursday from Seoul (Incheon) to Manila.

Twice weekly flights (Wednesday and Friday) between Taipei and Manila are scheduled to begin on August 7. One-way flights to Manila from Osaka (Kansai) are also scheduled to begin on August 7.
