Vintage 2023 is in full swing, with the season officially opened at a ceremony in March 🍾
The Vintage Launch Ceremony was the first of its kind for the region in many years, and saw Coonawarra and district community members, wine industry stakeholders and dignitaries come together to acknowledge and celebrate this significant time in the region.

The Henty region is named after the Henty brothers who arrived in Portland Bay in 1834 and established the first permanent European settlement in Victoria ✨

It can get cool in Coonawarra at this time of year, but that's all part of making some the worlds finest wine. It is not an uncommon sight to spot our growers and their teams braving the cold to tender to their vines.
Across the region, growers use a number of different trellising and canopy management techniques. Doug Bowen has been hand pruning his Bowen Estate vines for 45 years and practices a time-honoured technique to ensure his vines produce the highest quality grapes year in year out.
