A number of roads in the Byfield area are currently flooded or damaged by flood waters, impacting access to areas of Byfield State Forest. Access to sites will be reopened as soon as possible after the flooding recedes and roads are assessed for safety.

Upper Stoney Creek camping and day use areas are closed due to flood damaged roads.

Access to Waterpark Creek and beyond, including Five Rocks camping area and Nine Mile Beach camping areas is closed due to flooding. The Water Park Creek flood height can be monitored at the following link: http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDQ60289.html with 2.2m being the level at which it can generally be crossed without the impact of flooding.

While Redrock camping and day areas remain open, visitors are urged to check conditions before visiting during this period of unstable weather.

Once roads reopen, please continue to monitor rain forecasts as river levels can rise quickly and trap visitors within the parks.

Remember, if it’s flooded, forget it.

Tours leaving from Waterpark Creek day use area car park at 9am Saturday/Sunday,
Tour takes 4 to 5 hrs depending on traffic, weather, sights, etc.
Tour destinations include Big Sandy, Stockyard Point Lookout, 9 Mile Beach, Freshwater Creek, Orange Bowl.
Byo all essentials, Water and Snacks provided, Sun cream and hand sanitizer also provided,
Your Safety is our Top Priority,
A short safety induction with signed waiver forms will be required to complete before entering the tour vehicle
